've just bought the exact same PowerCap, to use for woodturning, and I absolutely love it. I've worked in wood dust environments for many many years and boy I wish they had this years ago. It really is fantastic to use. The only gripe I have is I would've expected in 2021 the charge time to be quicker.
it works. It's expensive BUT you'll have to have earplugs to avoid the irritating sound from the high speed fan AND if you have a beard you'll do best in removing the tightening under the chin. Then it works well. Also you will probably not use it for small jobs but if cleaving boards and stuff you will. It's an alternative for those who have a cramped workshop and want to avoid meters of 100mm hoses, a hole in the wall/window and a dust filter station that definitely will make a lot more noise. Who will want to use it? Those like me, a suburban amateur joiner in a *small* garage or basement room and a Kärcher as dust filter :0)).
Can filters be reused by vacuuming? I asked this because the model I have the power cap lite is out of production. I have twilled I have filters 20 years old as it may be seen 30 hours of use because power cap originally gave me the respirator to publicise in my woodworking book etc. When I remove the filters, the airflow does not change so I am presuming they are still healthy.
i am able to wear my glasses without issue. When taking the unit off pull off from the back forward and then the glasses stay on well. I also wear ear muffs over top. you do hear the motor fairly prominently, but it becomes background noise.
I would recommend a basic non vented eye protection and a disposable face mask p3 valved. But if not available you could use one of these www.seworkwear.com/products/bht0a3-0l5-n00 but only if clean shaven
If you are wearing glasses it appears to be a bit of a problem putting on and taking the mask off. As i already have now with a different brand , my glasse are on the ground when i take it off. Is there also a flip open screen available ?
For more information on this email JSP safety in the UK for the exact impact details. This is full impact protection as long as you buy the correct version. There is 2 available. One is a dust shield and one has impact protection
It's good to see this one is more slim than compared to other types of respirators I've seen, Thanks!

Wow that's the first one I've seen that is so compact...
Its not clear to be what the airflow indicator does - does it indicate when filters need changing? Thanks
That’s what it means. Reduced airflow when the filters are blocked. All the technical information available at JSPs website
