there is one more method that u can just collect the different variables at one side and keep the variable( that is to be made the subject) kept constant . that is much easier than this one i think.
Do you have to start by subtracting/adding to both sides? Or can you start with multiplying/dividing both sides? (If it is the first one, then is it reverse BEDMAS when doing this?)

What I don’t get is u don’t subtract from both sides. Eg 2y = 6 + 3x if you were to subtract 6 from both sides wouldn’t the equation be -4y = 3x?
you can’t solve 2y-6 because the like terms aren’t the same so you leave the equation as 2y-6
