Thank you for the great info. I was able to replace my alternator in august thanks to you. However, I purchased the same part you linked in the description. As a warning, I wanted to let everyone know it only lasted me 4 months. I’m gonna try autozone now.
Thank you, Felix. Your instructions are perfect. I removed and replaced the alternator, and I'm happy to have my car running. I wonder if you will eventually provide directions for replacing the coils. I explored the engine, and I couldn't find them. Thanks for your help.
Nice video! I didnt need to remove the belt completely just lock the tensioner open and slip the belt off the alternator pulley hold it in place with something pehaps secure it to something to stop it falling off.
Hey why in other videos i see that they take off other parts like the pulley and stuff to get the alternator off i have a Volkswagen Jetta 2001 with a 2.0 with it be the same process....to take it of like in your video.
Any advice on getting an alternator that's stuck out? 05 jetta, pretty sure it's never been replaced. Currently using pb blaster and a hammer to loosen it up and nothing so far
Oh man, my 05' 2.5 doesn't look anything like that engine and the damn thing was a son of a b**** to get out. I pulled the passenger side headlight and then dropped the three easiest bolts on the compressor and let it fall out the bottom

Thanks for this video. I was having issues on my jetta died on the highway and had to walk to the store to buy a new alternator. Easy fix!

Nice job, Felix - especially saying the socket sizes. Appreciate it!

Thanks for the video. How much could I expect a mechanic to charge for labor on that?
~$150
500$ 😢
Thank you very good video and very well explained 👍
Thank you for the info kinda hard having it be in a multi video I feel the belt and alternator should’ve been combined in one
Thank you so much, we had to do this today.
Hey Felix quick question the alter on the link. Does it fit a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0Engine 90A
The car I was working on has a 2.0 engine so most probably yes
Daaaaaaam bro clean easy instructions to fallow great job your awesome
I love how easy they made this one to remove vs the 2005. Shit is shoved up under so much I can’t even get to the power cord holding it in
Great video, thanks.😎

Where are you located 😩
Nice. Straight forward video
Thanks for the video very helpful
This and serp. Belt videos are Clutch thanks.
Nice and DIY videos. Thanks
Very helpful thank you.
Nice video. First I have seen for a Jetta with have way decent shots and description.
I know right
The red jetta 😮
The problem is almost all of the alternators don't have the pulley. Trying to wrestle it off of a 16 year old alternator will be a challenge.
Pry against the old core using a long thick flathead or pry bar

If i was you next time take your watch off js
I have always worked with mine unless it's in a tight space. I always remove my rings though
