Elysia's JP VA said she was trying not to cry when recording the final lines, I guess that is why Elysia sounded more melancholic than her usual upbeat self during the battle with Mei and in this animation.

In 7:27 Eden walking alone through the ruins of her Era is so damn tragic. She survived til the end but refused to enter the cryopod. Eden lost her will to live, wanting to die with her era. The Brightest star of the 1st Era lost her light, under a shining sky she walked alone. It made me cry.

She didnt lost her will to live, eden felt that she belonged to pe and should rest with it, Mobius understood that their lives must come to an end to give hope for the future when she saw eden refused, walking alone while singing before they death comes.

This is the lesson Elysia wanted everyone to learn- hope is the most powerful thing in all the universe, not just in this phone game but out in reality as well. Hope has driven humanity forward all throughout history. Sometimes it wasn’t pretty, sometimes it led to tragedies; but we always picked ourselves up and forged ahead, driven by a hope that things could be better, that WE could be better. We still have a long way to go on this journey, but looking back we can see just how far we’ve come, and that can give us the strength to keep pressing forward, farther than anyone before us ever could.
As Elysia would say: “Tragedy isn’t the end, it’s the beginning of hope.”

Both JP and CN dub is very good. The effort the VAs put in is very appreciated. Farewell Flame-chasers, you will always be remembered. Anyways this is about my 20th time watching this and its still as good as how I watched it for the first time. Incredible.

After Otto Apocalypse, I don't expect Hoyoverse to be able to produce another brilliant character. They really outdid themselves. Flame Chasers are the best 13 characters ever written for me personally. Well done, Mihoyo... Well done, Honkai team!
Totally agree that, from everlasting flame, I though it was the highest mihoyo can get into, then the otto thus apocalypse did hit me strong, now is this "because of you", I really very excited to wait for the next animated short

Eh…new story is quite disappointing to me atm, I want apho to be apart of main story… also I need Kiana to die. With every reason that makes sense. I think I’ll stick to paying attention to Honkai story more if that happens.
Newer note: I finished the final part story when it obv came out. It had huge flaws, like the captain verse stuff. And the complicated writing, but seeing Kevin reunite with the Flamechasers and Dr.Mei absolutely tore me apart. The end was a little bad but it definitely wasn’t absolutely horrible.

I love how everything she said after she transformed into the herrscher of human was pretty much the exact same words she said to mei just before meeting mobius in elysian realm, even the "but visitor, your journey never ends, right?" Except before she said "but mei, your journey never ends, right?" It's just one of the nice callbacks to the past like many others in this short

Actually, I believe it's also a reference to one of her quotes when receiving her Signets. She tells Mei something along the lines of "I prepared 40 different versions of my opening lines". So if you think about it, rather than saying something unique to the Herrscher of Corruption, she gave it a cookie-cutter speech. It's also worth noting that the term "visitor" is used pretty much exclusively by Su to address Mei (probably every other successor as well, much like how Mobius probably calls every successor a lab rat).
the ENTIRE FIGHT is about Elysian and her 'pals' (even Kalpas) bidding a farewell note to Mei, togheter. Literally, they aren't givin any attention to HoC.
From the begning even the 'for a herrscher, your appearence is kinda curious' was a compliment to mei, but soundeds weird, so elysia goes on 'but don't get mad, or I'll cry'
on and on.
5:47 Watching this again I noticed that when Elysia was about to deal the final blow, she disappeared before she let the arrow fly, which means she really gave her ALL that moment

same at 3:28 , mobius turned herself into a power fragment for elysia, so elysia won't see her getting emotional. like the first time during the baquet, what even hurt more is that the first one to sacrfice herself to help elysia was mobius, says alot about these 2 relationship. o7

I'm so in love with Marina Inoue's performances. She did a good job on voicing two different entities with complete personality and full of passion just to make this emotional and intense. It's an amazing piece! Thank you, Inoue-sama!
I agree. And now, imagine the astonishing voice acting you have to do to dub every Vill-V personas. She's not really my favorite character, but voicing her must have been so difficult yet so rewarding. I just can't help but have mad respect for her seiyuu. Probably one of the best performance I ever saw, all JP voice acting alike.

Elysia sounded so excited when Kevin asked if she was ready. That "Sure" in this case "Mochiron" (forgive me if I wrote this wrong) was voiced with her excitement of finally fighting together with all of the flamechasers which left a mark with me. I am really not that much familiar with CN VA so I really did not get the same vibes with JP but the CN ver is also great when I first watched it
"Mochiron" actually translate to a definitive "Of course".

Kevin and Elysia could be a better match than Kevin and Dr. MEI. An ice cold man that was tortured by destiny and a girl as warm and beauty as flower field.
@@fegito9206 from the way Ely talks to Mei she has more of a thing for girls from the looks of it, but Kevin deserved someone like her for sure. However, I kind of like the fact he ended up with someone like Mei for story reasons; I feel like his love-turned-obsession with Dr. MEI is going to be an antagonistic motif for him: since he couldn't save the one he loves, he's going to do the closest thing to saving her which is executing her plan, despite the fact it will harm humanity.
He has nothing to protect. He does not care for his descendents, let alone humanity as a whole. The only thing he ever cared about is Dr. MEI. Whether or not she loved him the same way he loved her is unknown to me (as in she was just obsessed with him as he was with her; from the looks of it, not really, but she did love him), but you can tell how his inability to be with the one he loved most, especially after becoming a MANTIS, drove him to the brink of insanity. He would do anything to achieve what MEI couldn't. Just like Otto, he is carrying on a rotten, dirty grave on his back, refusing to move on.

For weeks after I went inside the realm, I tried to figure out who this bright girl is
How come someone like her becomes a part of the MOTH's?
The more I searched for the answer, the more she is enveloped in mystery
What is she? Who is she?
Still, no answer was found
After not finding the answers, I just decided to not think too much of her
But, she keeps appearing more and more
Leaving behind impressions every time we met
After times passed, I began to realize how I began to be attracted to her, in a way I cannot describe
Is it her personality? Her charm? Her charisma?
I can't say for sure, but that thing is what makes her able to gather all the people around her
Her purity and sincerity bring upon beauty in The World
It attracts others towards this shining beacon within the world that is almost ruined
A force that brings the gathering of The Thirteen Heroes
Solely becoming the Pillar that keeps them as one
The way she talks about them feels really passionate
Even towards the most dangerous of people
From there, I began to learn of their past, their struggles, their stories as I continue to travel within that realm
What they lost, and what they gain through out their life
In an Era with constant war against humanity's enemy
Hearing their heroic tales, each and every of their path that branches into a story akin to a fairy tale
I am Captivated by each of their unique stories and tales that were forgotten by time
And yet, in here, it remains eternal
That raises the question that I buried before, who is she?
The girl capable of becoming the beacon for these Moths that chased after an undying flame
Times passed and The Truth was laid bare in front of me
Her Beginning, Her Journey, Her Identity, Her Dream of Paradise, Her Destiny and Her Ending

The memories that was uncorrupted, untainted, and pure
It gave me the answer I was looking for

4:04 I teared up a little when sim SAKURA said "This has never been seen before right?" since the real SAKURA was the first flame-chasser to die
Meanwhile at 7:45 Kevin uses the Kaslana's first and ultimate weapon(baseball bat) to fight
Kevin's scene there makes me a bit sad ngl. With everyone else we see them when they were at their happiest, but Kevin is pictured fighting Honkai beasts. This implies to me that the only thing Kevin has known in his life has been the Honkai war
@@thedaniel4999 it is tho, he and Mei wouldve been a perfectly normal couple but Honkai war happened, which is why he became the Kevin we knew today. It's really tragic, the man just wanted to have a normal life and now he's just fighting probably not for humanity but for the names of his fallen comrades

yeah and all those fun aspect ratio things they did during it, turning to 4:3 when Elysia loses her eye, then into an oldschool TV shape when she's about to disappear and then slwoly builds back to 4:3 and finally Elysia destroys the borders and the video returns to the original ratio haha

Gotta love the references in this animation though.. the first few notes are the same in "Sweet Trap" around the beatdrop part, and even the last part (Ely standing in a field of flowers) is the same last notes in the first Elysia trailer
And if I'm not mistaken, the part where they shoot HoC it kinda looks like Ely's signet 5:50

They were a team, yet never fought together
And the thing that hit me deeply, is Elysia's speech.
It's the exact same one from the first ER trailer, but I guess only now I realized that Mei actually did it.. Reach the future, I mean
"To create the future, we could not reach."
Mei, reached it SHE SURVIVES IN APHO AND IS NOW PASSING ON THEIR LEGACY IN A WAY
The credits truly got me crying, it represents even though the 13 were "Heroes", they were all still human

At first, I saw Elysia as a walking red flag for her too good to be true personality but eventually she became one of my favourite characters
Elysia has the heart of gold. From the beginning to the very end, she's indeed a human.
5:10 Elysia literally said "no we're going forward" to the Herrscher's time rewinding abilities
5:09 actually translates to "I told you to move forward!". She's literally telling us to move on from her and all of ER's end.

It's also positioned at the point where people may rewinds to a lot to listen to the main hook.

Elysia one of the heroines of the previous world, at first people thought she was someone strange, then someone funny and laughing but still nothing was known about her, each time they told us more about her origin and each time she stole our hearts more and more, she fought alongside her dear friends and companions, the 13 Flame Chaser stood up and fought to the end and against fate, goodbye to a great warrior and a great friend, someone who loved humanity until her last breath~
She is the hero of both eras... Mei knows she is the result of Elysia´s desire

Elysia could just run the elysian realm delete command, but understood that by doing so, the flame chasers won't reach the grand finale she had always dreamed of
Honkai impact always out here with the best animation and soundtrack i have seen out of all the games out there, their character building is just phenomenal. In my opinion this game is just peak fiction

I have to be honest, I don't think there is a superlative that can describe how great Honkai Impact's story and plot. Its even greater than most triple AAA console games.
When I first played the first 3 chapters, I seriously thought its just a typical beat'em up game with great graphics and funny story, I mean its a mobile game no one expects to have something this great in a mobile game. I was proven wrong

The voice actress for Elysia is Marina Inoue. She has voiced many projects, most notably the anime series Attack on Titan and her talent is undeniable, truly special. They're right, the story Shaoji wrote wouldn't have been as emotional without the sacrifice

CN Elysia sounded full of determination and making sure that everything will end like how it is, while JP Elysia sounded encouraging that we should move on, leaving all the sorrow of 'their failure' to reach the future they failed to see. I'll be honest, CN one was more energetic, but the melancholic feeling JP dub gives is so beautiful.
Farewell, Elysia. You, and the other 12 Flamechasers, will never die for us, as long the story remains in our heart.
I feel like the CN had better sound mixing as some of her lines get drowned out by the music.

Tbh my main comparison to these are when Corruption attempted to dodge the 12 attacks, but got forwarded by Ely who 'refused' to go back, and the ending shot.
In CN, she scolded the Herrscher for trying to send them back (smth like "tsk tsk, nice try, but no thanks!"), while they've agreed to move on. While in JP, she was like "no, we're going no matter what!".
The ending too. When CN version was like when she let out her last shot with determination, JP version was a bit sad that the shot will end them all, but it's needed in the end.
At this point Honkai will go down as my favourite game of all time. The story, cinematics, passion that went into it, and the emotions that this game can bring out of people are on an entirely different level.

I recently finished Elysian Realm and Elysian Everlasting. This game so far has been some of the best storytelling I have ever seen. I love the flame-chasers and everything so far. I’m on Chapter 35 , and witnessing Elysia’s story is so well done. I love it. I love it all. Such a wonderful story of simple heroes, but a deep meaning.
The fact that the elysian realm is so well done, especially this animation. They even show the lines of coding in certain moments, that have been added..

When I first was introduced to Elysia in ER, I didn’t care much for her character because of all the secrets she was keeping. I just finished EE today, and I was bawling my eyes out for our beautiful Pink Elf and her 12 companions in this short. Such emotion they put into these wow.
Elysia really was one of the most important characters in this game, the first Herrscher, and one who loved life and humanity so much.

I cannot express how much I love this game. it made me see life in a different way, it helped me get through my real life. Literally me, the punchline of the foreshadowing is what makes me tearful as their very words from beginning held a great weight right now which makes it Impactful.
They have forge a path for the new generation, at the end of that future they created is where their graves at, they are just a mirage of the past, and now their succesors is thwre approaching the end of the future they created, before they for left behind and forgotten, they want to share their legacies and stories to inspire them and step on the new boundary they can never cross anymore, they share you their stories and give you your legacy.
Will you walk their paths and continue their forgotten legacy?

Elysia's japanese voice is so unique and delightful to hear. It's s like a melody, a little sweet lullaby, so pleasant and saccharine at the same time, really gorgeous and an amazing job by Marina Inoue giving her such a gorgeous voice, that fits very well with Elysia's personality at all.
I come back here after a year and the nostalgia hits me as hard as i remember 😌
I think it’s beautiful that Elysia remains in her Human form in the final fight against HOC, rather than her seemingly stronger Origin form.

I just finished up the entirety of Elysian Realm + Chapters 29 through 31... Chapter 31 hits hard... 😭
the only sin for me it's, few scenes didn't get neither than a black/white screen.
Kosma's past(when griseo's dad and Kosma's 'girlfriend' died in the mu continent, with all those ELFS, and kosma blame's himself 'cause was the lone survivor, and not a hero).
Elysia's and Memento's hug(when ely discovers that Sakura's sim, for almost 50k years, hold that hatred and blammed herself for Rin's death, and both cry holding eachother, slowly kneeling)
When i finished chapter 29-31 it became my favorite chapter and all the 13 flame chasers became my most loved characters even they only are memories there, and this cutscene made me crazy in the song TruE i just love it it tells every feeling in elysian realm and chapter 29-31

I'm pretty sure no one will read this comment and no one cares or asked for it but I just need to write how I feel after finishing chapter 31. I'm late but I'm doing my best to catch up on recent chapters. I started Honkai in July 2022 because I was bored and didn't know what to do. I had tried Honkai before but never really got into it and gave up within 3 hours, but I wanted to give it another try even though I didn't expect much. At that time, how could I have imagined that this game would become one of my all-time favorites?
Honkai became special to me from the moment I saw the first cutscene. I've experienced so many emotions since I installed it, and Honkai is definitely the game that made me cry the most while watching its cutscenes, not because I was sad, but because it was so cool, the plot, the characters, the voice acting, absolutely everything.
When I played ER for the first time I didn't know how to feel about Elysia, being such a nice and "naive" person in this cruel world... I found her to be absolutely annoying.
But as time and chapters passed, I began to love every single Flame Chaser, even Elysia. After finishing the ER story, I got through chapters 29, 30 and 31 in just a few days, and don't ask me why, but I was convinced that there would be a twist and that Elysia would leave the realm with Mei (what convinced me was probably seeing drawings on Honkai's Twitter account showing her with Mei and Kiana). But when Elysia said that one sentence : "Let's walk around before parting ways" I knew there was no way she was coming with Mei and that was the first time I actually cried because of sadness while playing a video game. It wasn't the usual tears that appeared during a CG because "this is so cool, it looks amazing". My face litteraly started to deform the way it does when you cry because of someone's death. I know these feelings and sadness are not how you feel when someone dies, I know that very well, but this was the closest I have ever felt to that since a long time, even though it is "just a video game". I couldn't stop crying until the end of the chapter, I was so ashamed and scared of seeing anybody come in my bedroom and see me like that... I felt so stupid thinking about the fact that I initially thought Elysia was annoying because in reality she is a wonderfully written character, just like all the others.
Starting Honkai was probably one of the best choices of my life and all the persons who did the same are wonderful people. Can't wait to see what'll happen next.

god i just LOVE how this animation uses efects to tell a story. the aspect ratio changing after elysias eye gets damaged, then it turning to look more like an old tv or computer screen when she gets deleted by hoc and making the 2d animation look kinda blurry and lower quality when ely is lost in the code (i think?) is such a nice touch! and literally exploding the aspect ratio back to normal? so cool, i can’t express how much i love this

When Elysia breaking Herrscher of Corruption 's rewind ability, that shows Elysia is no more just a data sim, she is the Herrscher of Origin/Human: Ego and has total control in Elysian Realm.
To The Flawless arc was a piece of divine work. Astounding how they wrote a past heroes that failed to save the world, and then redeemed their failure in the future world, in which it is the exact same world they were in, only in a different era. Even after death (most of them), their fight continues. And finally, they finished their duties, as the Flame-Chasers. Though not in the way they hoped for.
Like how you made sense dead heroes from past era, able to save the future era? Time travel is usually the easiest way and clichés way to make sense of this... But no. It's through their memories in the form of data that they uploaded before deathbed/hibernation, against the Herrscher that embodies data. That's how it's done. 10/10.

6:20 onward really had me in the heart, it’s the gathering of the unusual thirteen from across the world, of every origin, and that Kevin last scene with the baseball bat got me all teary, before all of your Kaslana superhumans with the Parvati gene, Kevin was just an ordinary good-looking athletic kid with perhaps a knack for fighting.
I can’t describe the feeling of watching these unique personality from their different background gather to become the Flamechasers,
Like.. It’s realistic, MHY did them justice by fleshing out each and everyone’s story, yet making them remain connected to eachother in someway.
I just realised, at 4:03 Sakura says "this has never been seen before, right?" about ALL the FCs banding together to defeat a herrscher, when it actually did happen already in PE against HoTE, it's just that Sakura had already died before she got to see it happen
not to mention some of the flamechasers had stayed behind during the fight
Elysia also sacrificed herself before the fought the final Herscher. So yeah in the Elysian realm was the first and only time all 13 flame chasers fought together. 😭

This sort of love and sacrifice is something only Elysia is capable of giving, her love for humans and her desire to be one has far surpassed all levels of love and purity. This affection is something only Elysia can bear to give. It's so bittersweet that we have to bid the Flamechasers farewell, feels like I needed more of it but nevertheless some things are better left as it is. As long as we remember all of them, the Thirteen Flamechasers who lived with pride will never die 💕

@@batperson3532 If going by GITS and Eva as comparisons, it IS a happy ending. Besides the real Flamechasers already passed on long ago (with the exception of Kevin and Hua) Elysia got her closure, nothing bitter about it when the Elysian Realm served its purpose.
