I keep coming back to this demo/song and I love every minute of it. I swapped out the pickups on mine and went with Nashville Hots neck and a fulltone humbucker bridge, removed the middle pickup, and wired in a 4 way switch with reverse pols on pos 2/3. Unreal machine. This video is why I wanted this guitar.
One of my 4 electric "dream" guitars that I would like to have in my collection within my own lifetime (other 3 being the Gibson Firebird V, Rickenbacker 330, and a left-handed Gretsch Falcon). I generally dig Telecasters no matter the brand name attached to them, but the baritone ones just resonate with my soul for some unexplained reason. Damn shame that Fender stopped producing them, but knowing how they operate these days I wouldn't be surprised if they wind up making a comeback sooner rather than later with added improvements from a tuning standpoint.
@@JamesArgyle money. no one payed them enough mind or love. and the paranormals look like shit and probably don't feel the same. its the one guitar i know ill never part with. they're just so goddamned solid and perfect for what they are. got mine as a christmas present for about $420 used in 2014, never gonna look back or let it down. the thing's a beast.
Thank you James for this beautiful piece of music, I keep coming back to it and love what you have done and your tone! It inspires me and I too is on the lookout for a soul-rich baritone electric!...
Totally f---g awesome, dude. You really understand the harmonic richness of this beautiful and under-rated instrument. I've been trying to find one and it's like a needle in a f---g haystack. I'll get one someday though! Thanks for showing people what you can do with one.
Sounds like magic! I actually ordered one of these today and it should be here next week! I already have a danelectro baritone and it really is an under appreciated style of guitar! New sub for you sir
What gauge of strings are you using? Everything stock on this guitar? I'm looking to change out pickups on mine. It doesn't 'spank' enough for my liking. This video has great tone, I can't get mine to clean up like yours.
It's longer, 27", and you usually use thicker strings. Fender made them some years ago, but not anymore, which is why they are quite hard to find. A shop in my area has one on offer for 600 bucks and I'm not sure for how long I can resist... That thing plays and sounds just beautiful.
nathanmielke I just found one on eBay. It’s the silver one. I’m hoping I get enough with tax return to order it. I’ve held out on getting any other baritone because I love telecasters
Yep. What scale length does is allow you to tune lower, without getting bigger strings. You can tune a 27" to Standard but you will probably want 9-42 strings or so as they are gonna have more tension. But you don't see many tune a baritone to standard because the purpose they serve doesn't really benefit standard tuning much.

Yes, they're great guitars and I too can't understand why Fender stopped making them..?!
Perhaps the new Squier Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Telecaster
might work for you ?

Beautiful man.
Sounds great man
Love baritone
Great Song, beautiful atmosphere, ist it standard tuning? Doch you have the Tabs?
nice sounds mate. What amp are you using? tnx!
Sweet
What makes this a baritone? I know the tuning is lower, but I assume you had to change the nut. Does Fender sell this as a stock guitar? Great song!

Jan Glauser I hoped you grabbed it. 600 is good from my understanding.
I like the sound. That said, I lose the low at times in this video.
what's the song?
sorry bro, Are you interested in selling this guitar ?
Sorry, this ones a keeper! Quite hard to get hold of now too...
Well I'll tell you pal, you are lucky to have that guitar. They are so darned hard to find now it's ridiculous!
^^^ It took me almost over 6 months to find the red one. Just bought one on Ebay.

This is so true! I got mine brand new in the early 2010's for about 600euros I think, the price almost doubled now...
AWESOME !!!
Can i tune it in standard?

Just capo on the 5th fret for standard!
