    Every fucking time I listen to this song, no matter how many times i did, the beginning gives me chills and when he goes "The sands of time for me are running Low." I get goosebumps. Truly epic. That's what good music does.

      @@kernzyp -- Sorry man, can't remember which doc. One of the hundreds out there on TH-cam.... but I seem to remember it's one which features Bruce flying their 747 around. Also: it's not hearsay - it's Bruce and Steve themselves very candidly talking about their early shows together, Bruce telling us that he went straight to Maiden's mgr and said, "If Steve wants to hog the center of the stage all the time, then I'm out." And trying to force Steve away from the center by using his mic-stand, etc. Very revealing and funny.

    i was there ,in 1983,at the long beach arena.long beach ,California. i was 15 .the show was so amazing me and my metal head /stoner buddy's went back the next night and bought scalper tickets and the show was even better.the fro the set,to the song list.and im 52 today and still have my ticket stub."UP THE IRONS"

    53 now and saw Maiden for the first time in Houston in 1985. Good and bad came from it. Good news, most awesome concert I ever saw. Bad news, everything since pales in comparison. So appreciative that I grew up in the rock era I did. What must young music lovers think nowadays when they see a performance like this? BTW, Tesla and Def Lppard in the round in Austin some years after that is a closish second place.

    Greatest band of all time, true musical Gods. Steve Harris is heavy metal, songs are stories about mythology. Close second Metallica and Led Zeppelin. Been my favorite band since 1982 and I’m 48, drove my parents nuts. When I’m in a nursing home I will still be playing Iron Maiden.

    I was at this show! 1985 on the Powerslave Tour - I was 18 and it was my first live concert ever. Twisted Sister opened for them but got booed lol - such an amazing show and great memory. Thanks for posting!

    It s been 37 seven years since I listened to this song for the very first time from a borrowed cassette I never returned. It has to be my best mistake in lifetime (the initial owner certainly didn t bothered), because it is part of my life ever since. Magical Live Sound to my Ears.
    English is not my native tongue so I m not sure if I can fully express my feelings about THIS version of this MASTERPIECE. This is what Music is all about, a piece of art that stays with us no matter what age or struggle we face. I m quite sure most of you will understand.

    God this song is perfect, of I'm showing somebody who iron maiden is, this is the go to. If they dont like this song they wont like maiden. In my opinion their best song, great story/lyrics and like 3 guitar solos all put into an epic maiden song. Everything is spot on, a masterpiece this one is🙌🏼

      Albums 1 thru 3 are my favorites with the 3rd album being the best. Many people will argue for albums 3 thru 5 but it’s Maiden’s 1st three albums that get the most airtime for me.

    Every time I hear this fantastic song, I get goosebumps. My favorite band ever, powerful and immortal. Heavy Metal has excellent bands and exceptional musicians, and I respect everyone, no doubt. But Maiden, for me, is breathtaking and passionate.

    These guys are so frickin' Bad-Ass live. The power & vocal ability that Bruce Dickenson can bellow for a guy that only stands maybe 5'-6"or 5'-7" is incredible. I remember seeing these guys as (you ready for this) as the 'warm-up' band for AC/DC. it was a 3 band lineup. Accept opened up, then Maiden came on ( I think they were doing Piece of Mind Tour if I'm not mistaken) & then AC/DC. It was at an outdoor venue called Alpine Valley Music Theatre at the ski resort in A.V., Wisconsin. Damn good memories. Same place that Stevie Ray Vaughn crashed & died at. I was at that show also.

    This is my uncles favorite metal band from the 80's. I remember him and his friends leaving for this concert as a kid.
