Also: it's not hearsay - it's Bruce and Steve themselves very candidly talking about their early shows together, Bruce telling us that he went straight to Maiden's mgr and said, "If Steve wants to hog the center of the stage all the time, then I'm out." And trying to force Steve away from the center by using his mic-stand, etc. Very revealing and funny.

So appreciative that I grew up in the rock era I did. What must young music lovers think nowadays when they see a performance like this? BTW, Tesla and Def Lppard in the round in Austin some years after that is a closish second place.

It s been 37 seven years since I listened to this song for the very first time from a borrowed cassette I never returned. It has to be my best mistake in lifetime (the initial owner certainly didn t bothered), because it is part of my life ever since. Magical Live Sound to my Ears. These guys are so frickin' Bad-Ass live. The power & vocal ability that Bruce Dickenson can bellow for a guy that only stands maybe 5'-6"or 5'-7" is incredible. I remember seeing these guys as (you ready for this) as the 'warm-up' band for AC/DC. it was a 3 band lineup. Accept opened up, then Maiden came on ( I think they were doing Piece of Mind Tour if I'm not mistaken) & then AC/DC. It was at an outdoor venue called Alpine Valley Music Theatre at the ski resort in A.V., Wisconsin. Damn good memories. Same place that Stevie Ray Vaughn crashed & died at. I was at that show also.

Every time I hear this fantastic song, I get goosebumps. My favorite band ever, powerful and immortal. Heavy Metal has excellent bands and exceptional musicians, and I respect everyone, no doubt. But Maiden, for me, is breathtaking and passionate.
Two things I miss about old Maiden shows. 1. Adrian and Dave going up top on Hallowed, and 2. Bruce putting Dave on his shoulders during NOTB.
A singular looking musical narrative from the point of view of a damned. An ambicious proposal, but masterfully executed. If this is not art,I don't what is it anymore. Deep song that combines poetry,reflection and a definitive and sweeping sound💕😉pure gold 🤟

These guys are so frickin' Bad-Ass live. The power & vocal ability that Bruce Dickenson can bellow for a guy that only stands maybe 5'-6"or 5'-7" is incredible. I remember seeing these guys as (you ready for this) as the 'warm-up' band for AC/DC. it was a 3 band lineup. Accept opened up, then Maiden came on ( I think they were doing Piece of Mind Tour if I'm not mistaken) & then AC/DC. It was at an outdoor venue called Alpine Valley Music Theatre at the ski resort in A.V., Wisconsin. Damn good memories. Same place that Stevie Ray Vaughn crashed & died at. I was at that show also.
