This is so underrated and definitely one of my favorite songs they ever did on Glee. Especially the full version is so amazing. I wish people talked about this more I don’t know why a lot of people seem to forget about this one.
Every time I hear this song my chest is sticking up higher than I ever could imagine I embrace my confidence and know there’s hope and wisdom. The end of this song really has me in tears every time. This might seem A REALLY strange song to feel like it fits what I'm going through right now.... But my older son has declared that he doesn't love me, and that he NEVER wants to hear me tell him I love him bc he believes it's total bullshit. The last few years I've felt him slipping further and further from me.... And now he may as well be dead, bc he's cut me out of his life completely. This after years of me and him being so close - like we were us against the world - him vying constantly for my attention and affection, which I gave, freely and generously. So it says things like, "one life, one blood" & that hurts so bad, but when it says "you ask for me to enter, but then you make me crawl, and I can't keep holding on, when all you've got is hurt" - I FEEL THAT I'M MY SOUL. So yeah, most people think of this as a romanctic type heartbreak song, but I relate to oh, so very strongly, bc of the rift between me and my son. My son, who I will love unconditionally until my dying breath, but who's been robbed from me by paranoid schizophrenia.
Years later one of favorite glee performances ,and best version of this song so beautiful always make me cry lea ,and cory nailed this performances RIP cory miss his voice ,and leadership in glee legend never die live forever in our hearts🕊❤.

Wow. Brilliant performance from the glee cast and the young man in the bed. Cory/Fin and Lea/Raychel did an amazing job singing this song let's not 4get the amazing Amber/Mercedes with that high note frigging Awesome.
I remember several rock bands having a bone to pick with Glee producers for covering their songs on the show but when they approached to U2, not only Bono gave them their "blessing" but he publicly expressed his admiration for how the song was rearranged in such a beautiful way and damn he was right
