I think the crystal charging grid has to be outside exposed to moonlight for it to work. I believe Dr. Gluon found out that if you charge your crystal creations before selling them, they’ll sell for a higher price. And you as the player can place items on the charging grid if you want, you don’t _have to_ make your sim do it for it to work properly. Love this series and I’m excited to see you play this pack!
I love this challenge! I think Opal’s house can look super cool if you went with a dark academia/alchemist vibe with cooler, rich tones. Maybe taking some inspo from the castles pack? I think it can be fun to watch you create a store front for a jewelry store with that vibe.
That's been my experience when I've had Sims doing crafting. (They end up painting to get over their burnout. The sapphire crystal seems to really help with preventing the gem crafter from burning out.) At first, I only put the charged gem on the crafting table. However, I found that if I put a charger near the crafting table but outside the roofline (so that it would continue to charge) it helped keep the gem charged and still worked while they were crafting. It also helped prevent them from getting the "drained gem" moodlet, since the gem kept charging what it lost during the day, without me needing to remember to put it back on the charger.
@@deligracy One of the good things about the charging table is that if it is in a position to get moonlight, it tells you that it's charging. If it's too far under the roofline, it's daytime or if it's indoors, it says it isn't charging. All you have to do is mouse over it and it tells you all the items on the unit, if the unit is charging, and how well-charged the items are.
Definitely! I watch a Simmer SweerAshGamer finish this version and start an occult version (found when I searched for Tiny Town; because I too am obsessed lol😅)
For Frank Stem i think bulding his house around the garden would be really cool. To have like a tree in de middle! And then the walls facing the garden are all glass or something like that :) Love this series so much!!
I love this series, to help try and alleviate some of the bugs I've adapted it to 'new town' where the same characters/skills and challenges happen but on separate lots in newcrest! I'm loving creating the town atmosphere with the traits/challenges set by this challenge but finding it easier having it in separate lots x
Deli, the roomates bringing food is another hidden trait. Also, the crystal you have on the ledge only halps with creative burnout, you actually need the one the one that helps with the mental burnout and the crystal grid needs to be placeed outside.
When you collect gems etc from lightning strikes, you have to have the sim claim them, not just drag into inventory, or it won't count as being owned by the sim. That's probably why they wouldn't stock onto the selling table.
Tips for Annie and Cypress. - Cypress is actually very easy. Just level your wood working as fast as possible. Don't make the sculptures as they aren't worth it. Make the most expensive furniture you can make at your level and sell it through your household inventory. LilMsSam makes a wood working mod that allows you to make more profits with wood working if you want to use mods because you can make even more expensive wood working stuff. Candle making is a waste of time, but I did some for the skill. You can make the most profit by running a retail store with 100% markup because Cypress takes a long time to make stuff. Don't restock things, but make new ones to sell. - Annie can be a pain. You can drag photos directly onto the selling table in live mode. You cannot put them inside the table inventory. Don't bother doing this with low value photos though. It's just a grind to snap random shots and sell them immediately. I suggest joining the freelance career and becoming a fashion photographer. Photography gigs make it much more interesting than just grinding photos. You can even setup an in-home studio and use the extra cameras, tripods and lights.
I'm not sure if anyone has suggested it, but, I think this challenge blended with the Occult challenge James just finished, would be such a cool idea!! Tiny town but make it Occult Sims!!
I was bored with this game and then I found your challange :) My first sim to play, Ziggy now have a wife and twin girls. Now I am playing with Beatrice and my starter home is done, so she is ready to have family too. Love it! I think I like it even more than occult baby and thats not easy to achive :)
I am so addicted to this series, I have so many thoughts! The smallest being that I thought Opal's roof looked so good as the more Victorian slope/pointy version and I was a little bummed you switched to more rounded but I utterly trust your process. I audibly gasped when you picked out her front door and windows, like, what absolute perfect picks! My bigger thought is that I know it's so frustrating for you guys as content creators when a pack releases and it's so full of bugs you basically can't play it but honestly, I'm actually so tickled by the creativity you and James have shown by doing your own unique side challenges that aren't EP based. It really speaks to just how creative you both are because the level of content you guys are putting out, EP bugs be damned, is just so so impressive. And lastly and not nearly as important, as a lifelong Lord of the Rings girly I'm so glad you're enjoying the books! They're my favorite 💚
Aw thank you for such a nice comment. We have really enjoyed making our own challenges to inspired the channels and community. I think we may change her house considerably. I’ve got some research to do!
I loved playing with Opal, her house is one of my favorites that I've build so far. As for Cypruss, for me it was the more fun to play! I love Eco Lifestyle, and I was switching between Handiness and the Maker job to build his house, it was really fun.
omg lol at 0:12 i zoned out a little bit and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me 😭 i had to rewatch it about 3 times because i was freaking out !!
I moved Cypress in first, and he was pretty easy for me I think. I concentrated on woodworking and at first it was slow but once I got him to lvl 10 he went on a wee vacation to Granite Falls and got the pattern to make the mascot statue ... $1500 a pop. It was easy after that.
You know I'm loving this series. Opal's house should have some kinda magical vibe like ya know the furniture and decorations and such. Crystals are magical in a way so I think it kinda fits. I wonder if ya could make a cute little castle now this would be a challenge girl lol. Glad ya kept sugar and snap I love them. Can't wait for the next part xo ❤❤❤
I think the charger has to be placed outside! Imagine a little area with the crystal tree and the charger… 🤩 Opal’s is definitely my favourite aesthetic of the whole challenge so far!
For some stupid reason jewellery making is a mental skill not creative skill in the sims. I absolutely love the jewellery pack, will be so nice to see Opal’s house and new jewellery!
That's what I was thinking too. It's why Opal feels uncreative, got burnt out on mental skill and the burnout kept getting worse with more jewelry making.
the plumbite gemstone if charged increases all of your needs over time - also love the idea of a renovated church with all the stained glass windows for her house - love this series!!
A renovated church is a great idea!!! Someone put the Charmed house on the gallery. I love the house from Practical Magic! Or Grannies house in Halloween Town! Actually all of the houses in Halloween Town are adorable!
Ahhh when you mentioned the good ol' barbie LP it brought back nostalgia for me!! That's how I discovered you back in the day 🥺💜 I'm so proud of you and this community!! Also, love this challenge and my favorite color Is purple I love Opal!
Loving this series! Maybe adding a little gym or just a treadmill to the top floor could be fun, or a yoga area for group sessions with all the townsfolk. Also I saw there is a gem, plumbite I think, that increases your needs overtime. I am also playing it and got Frank, Cypress, Opel, and now Alice. Cypress was really easy, started with figures on the selling table, then sold the bathtubs. lol. And he ended up marrying someone who had a horse, so we leaned into the ranch style. And for Opel I didn't have the crystal pack so I made her an archeologist instead, and she has a very purple/black Victorian house with antique furniture, stone spires, and upstairs was the library and display room with archeology table. Alice has been very hard because I don't have any other photo packs and I didn't realize I could drag photos in live mode, but hopefully that will make it easier now. Thank you comments! hehe
Loving this series so much! I’ve literally been bingeing it for the last few days and can’t wait to continue the challenge in my game! Also love that you referenced the Charmed house - such a great show!
Gemology is not a creative skill you gain it quicker when you are focused. So you don't really need to keep the Orange Topaz gem that you cut! You need sapphire to get focused btw
The crystal tree takes 7 days to grow, so it does take forever, but totally worth it. I planted two seeds just to see how it goes and I get so many crystals, I don’t know what to do with them 😂 Gemology and jewelry making is so freakin easy to make a ton of money on. I sell everything on plopsy and get crazy money. There’s a really nice ring, I can’t remember what it’s called, but the description says something like Morgyn Ember wants their ring back and I’m determined to have my sim propose to them with it lol
I don’t have the crystal creations pack so I’ve been playing Opal as a collector! Found her pretty difficult as well. Loving this challenge and series though 😁
I’m loving every bit of this series ; all of the Tiny Town residents have so much personality. I really love that you’re trying so many didn’t ways of earning simoleons. Also I know they don’t have tvs in their homes but maybe you could put one of the older looking tvs in the clubhouse so everyone could watch it if they wish?
ooh maybe for Opal’s tiny home could be like a tiny castle tower? 😆 might be pretty fun for her to live in since she gives off witchy vibes! and I also had a thought while watching that if Ziggy and Beatrice ever decide to get married, Opal can help to make an engagement ring for them which would be so cool to see 🤩
Fun! I just rolled up Opal as well :) I finished Cypress and that was harsh since I kept it to candlemaking and woodtables only. Tip with Cypress is that you do gigs with the candles :)
the way i typically cannot watch gameplay videos of the sims EVER! but tiny town has been genuinely delightful to watch and I get SO excited when a new episode comes out :)
Cypruss was so easy and fun for me to play with! Also, I have started with Opal and since I do not have the Crystal Kit I thought to myself : she could be a potion maker! Oh boy, it was tough 😅 founded her whole house on breeding and selling frogs! Lol, even got one on a display at her house! Good challenge, been enjoying it, keep up the good work!
This challenge has made me fall back in love with playing sims! Life made me not be able to play for almost a year but I’ve been playing non stop since
I just started playing this challenge a few days ago - this was a brilliant idea, I'm loving this challenge. I was so happy to get Cypress first. Since he's a builder, he can not only build stuff to sell but also to furnish his house and the common areas. When you make enough money, take him on a one-day trip to Granite Falls. He can learn the schematics of the giant statue in the forest and make a lot of money selling small copies of it (especially at 300% profit). Also, I highly recommend LittleMsSam's "more woodworks" mod. It's a game changer.
Yeeey, have been checking for new Tiny Town videos every day (L)! I did not play Opal as I don't have the Jewellery pack but looks like it will be a great good-money making. I had serious withdrawal after I finished my Tiny Town and have not touched my Sims since but last night I started working on a Tiny Town 2 and found the excitement again! I am making it 5 SIMS and in a 50 x 40 lot and planning to have a Gamer, a Farmer (living off stock and errands), a Climber (a bit of a dreamer but allowed to earn money from odd jobs and landscape photos), an Interior Designer and a Granny who does preserves and cross-stitches! :)
These are such good ideas! Could I ask how you managed to have them all living together but separately? I'm looking to start my TT challenge but I'm a little lost on how to get them living properly! 😅
@@LadyAxeHi there! So I don’t have For Rent or University so I kept it very simple, divide all sims as different households and add to household one by one as the previous one is done 😊 Then I just ignore the previous one as they usually take care of themselves unless I see them go in the red zone but it doesn’t happen often :-) The worst bit was keeping up with all the broken things once you have many houses but nothing that a “club” for people to fix & clean could not solve! 😂
@@logacandleco.110 Thank you for the reply!! I think this might be the best option for me, since the roomates idea seems to be a little finicky as well! 😅
Gardening was the most difficult for me, because of the seasons :D Woodworking actually was the quickest! Thank you for this challenge, Deli! I'm building my second tiny town already, love it!
How did you do the housing set up? Did you do rentals or roommates? I'm looking to start, but don't know how to go about them all living there but separately at the moment! xD
Anyone else wince when Deli sold the Plumbite? The plumbite gem is sooo useful because it fills all of your needs! I started over from when I first played because I was so unhappy when I built Opals house (I got her 2nd, Cypress first), I love watching your vids because I end up over thinking and watching you build helps remind me that it doesn't have to be perfect. Thank you Deli for the challenge!! I hope you come up with "sequel" tiny town challenges!
I never followed a build series before, but I’m following this one religiously! So addictive. Don’t have this gem pack yet but now I really want to get it.
Hey Deli! About dry needling - it is not fun to go through, but the recovery time from any injury is cut in half (have had it before a couple times for severe sport related injuries)
Hi Deli! I've watched u for so long and honestly makes my day when u upload, especially since i was just making my super sim's new house and then it CRASHEDDDDD. silly sims. would love to be a sims youtuber like u, maybe one day
Aaaaw my boyfriend and I started reading LOTR to each other in the evenings and the first chapters are so wholesome! Definitely tiny town vibes for sure. Keep up the good work, lots of love from Germany ❤
This series is everything! I am so happy you rolled Opal! She is just so much fun and the gemology skill has a lot of depth to it. Also, dry needling (imo and experience) has been very beneficial to release tense muscles and with my chronic migraines. ❤ If you try it I hope it works out well for you as well.
Deli, the gemology skill isn’t counted as creative, so the sims don’t get burnt out. Just so you know, you’d rather keep a gem that helps you be concentrated, because that boosts the pace of learning the skill
This is my absolute favorite series you've done! ❤ It's so hard for me to really play Sims anymore with my little kids but I really want to try this challenge myself!
In my tiny town, I have created a sim who owns the lot but doesn't live there. I also turned off events because they were on hyperdrive lol. I think if the lot owner doesn't live on the lot it's less buggy? I am on my second sim at the moment (almost ready for number three!) Might be worth a try? I am a family player so both my sims married (outsiders) and had kids. The central area will be a community playground/place for them all to hang out.
Deli!!! Dry needling is awesome. the needle itself is not painful at all. it can get a bit uncomfortable when the muscle twitches. but it’s worth it 100%. you will also be sore after.
Also, I love that you said if rose quartz existed in real life, it would be a hot commodity because it helps you get over breakups faster, but they do and it is, many people buy rose quartz for this exact reason 😭🤣
This is an awesome series and great job with the challenge. It took me 9 sim weeks to finish ziggy he was my first spin. But it was fun. Going to the community center from growing together was the best. There's food music comfy chairs and showers. Just took my tent and selling table.
Dry needling is great. It was one of the better parts of PT me after my knee surgery. I highly recommend it and it never hurt at all. It's also fascinating to watch if you don't have an issue with needles.
Deli you really popped off when you made this challenge, this series has me absolutely hooked! 🩷
I thought it was just meee
I hope it becomes the new Not So Berry, and others pick it up!
@@rebeccafisk4200 I’m so here for this! I’ll be sat watching anyone do it lol
Same! I've been watching every simmer I can find also playing the challenge. And I'm playing it myself. I'm addicted 😅

I love that I can watch Deli and James for completely different reasons, Deli is so wholesome and James is just straight chaos

Ah thanks! Yeah I realised in editing I need to have it outside 🤦♀️
I was about to say this! Charged jewelry/crystals sells for a lot more
I should also remember that other sims might steal the gems while charging 🫣
@@hannasuzuki1890 Yes - Deli - you should put the crystal charging grid inside a fenced in area, where no one has access expect Opal.

Dont forget about the purple bird to put in Opal's lot.

Dry needling is the best! It hurts just a tiny bit, but afterward is just so relieving!
Btw LOVING this series
so excited for the new character!!
This is my favorite challenge!!! All the house designs so far are so beautiful 🩷
This is probably my favorite character! Loving the purple crystal vibes 💜💜💜
This challenge has made me fall back in love with playing sims! Life made me not be able to play for almost a year but I’ve been playing non stop since
I am super impressed how you managed to blend knitting, cross stitch, and midcentury design
I love the renovated church idea for Opal! You could make such an interesting tiny home
I feel like Opal could get a yoga mat or meditate when she’s burning out. It would be so cool
Amazing! Yeah seasons makes it hard so I’m thinking we need a green house for sure
@@deligracy yep! I built it as a shared space, but locked it for everyone because sims kept stealing my harvest :D
How did you do the housing set up? Did you do rentals or roommates? I'm looking to start, but don't know how to go about them all living there but separately at the moment! xD
@@LadyAxe I did rentals, but it's kinda glitchy at times...
Anyone else wince when Deli sold the Plumbite?
The plumbite gem is sooo useful because it fills all of your needs!
I started over from when I first played because I was so unhappy when I built Opals house (I got her 2nd, Cypress first),
I love watching your vids because I end up over thinking and watching you build helps remind me that it doesn't have to be perfect.
Thank you Deli for the challenge!! I hope you come up with "sequel" tiny town challenges!
Yey! Another amazing video! Opal Gem is a great addition! 😁Thanks Deli!
I’ve been obsessed with this series, I look forward to all the new videos. I definitely think Opal Gem’s aesthetic would be called whimsigoth !
Hi Deli! I've watched u for so long and honestly makes my day when u upload, especially since i was just making my super sim's new house and then it CRASHEDDDDD. silly sims. would love to be a sims youtuber like u, maybe one day
oh and also if u want to sell suitcases that visitors bring, just put them in ur household inventory then take them out again so u can sell them xx
Thanks so much! Sorry your game crashed that’s the worst!
@@deligracy honestly isn’t it, and that’s alright ml! Xx
A renovated church for Opal sounds really cool and unique! Loving the series, Deli! ❤
Aaaaw my boyfriend and I started reading LOTR to each other in the evenings and the first chapters are so wholesome! Definitely tiny town vibes for sure. Keep up the good work, lots of love from Germany ❤
this series got me HOOKED 🤍 binging your & james’ videos while also playing the challenge myself. it’s so much fun!! ps. love the ts2 music
Hey! The crystal charger needs to be outside to work! Excited for Opal Gem :)
This is my absolute favorite series you've done! ❤ It's so hard for me to really play Sims anymore with my little kids but I really want to try this challenge myself!
The charger needs to go outside! 😂❤
Deli!!! Dry needling is awesome. the needle itself is not painful at all. it can get a bit uncomfortable when the muscle twitches. but it’s worth it 100%. you will also be sore after.
the sims 2 music is everything
Hi Deli, I am in love with this series and I'm very much invested in it myself! Can't wait for the next episode❤
Also, I love that you said if rose quartz existed in real life, it would be a hot commodity because it helps you get over breakups faster, but they do and it is, many people buy rose quartz for this exact reason 😭🤣
😅😅😅
Tiny Town is such a creative and cute idea! You and James are my bedtime watches ❤
Loved the nostalgic Sims 2 music and DDLV tunes in this one, Deli!
Hehehe
Ooh I am loving the start of Opal’s home! So cute
Loving the series so far
So excited for more Opal!
Finishing my dissertation and this has really helped me relax at the end of the day!! Always love the updates ❤❤❤
hmmm that sounds like Disney Dreamlight music at the beginning of the video!!! Really loving this series deli!!! ❤
Actually obsessed with this challenge, been so excited for this video🎉
Yayyyy
Im so excited for Opal! I feel like the Paranormal stuff pack is her vibe.💜
