Experiencing a different culture and environment is difficult for most people. The people all around are crazy as they are poor, they don't have cosy buses. But, but they don't steal anything from you they just sit on you on the truck as they are poor. They cannot afford comfortable buses to the mountains. However, I love the poor and I respect you the poor.
this is a big change and improvement. there were no car to go up there before and no hotels. walk all day up with flash light or torch and 7 miles from the base to golden rock. I had been there about three times when I was a kid. Hope, I have a chance to visit again one of these day.
I think you can walk up or down by foot. It's pretty steep. In ancient days, people used fire torch at night and walk up by group. There's a saying that if you say bad word in the mountains, you lost the way or are chased by a tiger. :-) And there's another rock like crow beak and people throw coins.
+fox tail Yes! It is covered in gold leaf which is real gold that has been pounded down to small pieces that are thinner than paper (thinner than tissue even). People are constantly adding more gold leaf, but only men can touch the rock (woman are not allowed).
