I heard one time that if someone hasn't read a book, the best response isn't "You haven't read that yet?!?!" but should be "You are in for a treat." From the garden, to the art, to the books, to everything: You have so many delights ahead of you! It's gorgeous that you surround yourself with so many little future adventures. Thank you for sharing, Candy.
hello, Candy! ❤ thank you for such a vulnerable video! as a person who feels like an impostor in absolutely everything they do, and who constantly is nagging themselves for not doing enough, I really feel you and empathize with what you're saying but, not gonna lie, I was shocked when you said that you think that you don't practice magic enough or practice it 'right' you're the most magical person I've ever seen, and to me you don't practice magic - you breathe it, you live it, you embody it to me I have a pretty weird practice of my own, and I always turn to your videos when I feel uninspired or lost the way you speak and tell stories is full of magic too, even when you're simply talking about your latest thrift finds that's a real gift that has to be cherished I really hope that further on you're more proud of how many brilliant ideas you come up with and how much you actually try to do something, rather than ashamed of how inconsistent things are occasionally I think that next you should film a video (or maybe just journal in private) about everything you've managed to achieve against all odds - no matter how small those things are - to see your greatness that is very evident to me and, I'm sure, the rest of your viewers ❤ hope you'll start feeling better soon ❤ p.s.: i'd loooooove to see the bookcase tour!

So many projects, so little time. And you are producing YT videos on top of it all! I really hope you can remember to give yourself grace. Another thought I often have is that it is so much easier to buy things than to use them. As an artist and a knitter, I've watched people over the years spend more of their time purchasing beautiful supplies (and there are SO many beautiful things available) and then honestly not having the time to use them. Yours is not a unique problem (and I am not immune!). The challenge for all of us who have been traversing the digital world is to find ways to control our gathering! I know you have said you are a collector by nature. I am not, so I don't have that extra challenge, but I know that the glut of things available to buy - even 2nd hand (and SO much more of that than when I was a child - I am exactly your age and we never had the thrift stores we do today back then) - makes every shopping outing a test of will. As creative people, we often see POTENTIAL in everything and have more ideas than we'll ever be able to manifest. Maybe paring back on your garden vision and expectations would be a good practice. Maybe your grand vision is for a season to come and you satisfy yourself with a smaller, more manageable sized cultivated plot and leave the rest. Maybe you create a spell for yourself to help you resist another book when you're out and about, to bring to mind all of the wonderful books waiting for you and remembering that you will find that book again, should you really need or want it. The library is a wonderful storage facility for books we don't have to own! And one more idea: I recently subscribed to Audible since I have been struggling with tinnitus for a few months now. Some days my ear is quiet, and others it is too distracting to read. I've had to suspend any more book buying. I have them waiting for me for quiet days, but on other days, I enjoy listening to an audiobook. And that allows me to do my other creative projects at the same time! If you think you can't afford it, perhaps rearrange your discretionary income: book buying for audiobook subscription or fewer decks or whatever. I adore you and your channel and think of you as a creative and powerful, healing witch! Sending you much love from across the pond and feel better soon!
Aww what wonderful wisdom wow thank you so much for taking the time and care to say this. I hope the tinnitus gets better soon I developed it for a while too and I really struggled with it as a soul that like quiet. It just went away though so that’s hopeful ❤️
So much to resonate with. I watch your videos thinking how amazing you are as a mum and person and like me so many things to balance that mean things get put to one side when life gets in the way. I have not as many children as you, I didn't do as much painting and artwork as you in the last years, I am not quite as old as you, I was not as creative in my journaling as you,... I could go on... Maybe consistency is for some people but others explore and express in phases /seasons /waves or whenever whatever they want and need. I can't eat the same all the time just for consistency or I can't just inhale and never exhale because of consistency or because I have to finish or make it perfect. I release more and more pressure and ideas that may work for others but don't work for my personality. Joy, fun and progress of I want to are better for me than any ideas or standards or whatever other people do and may enjoy. I love all the inspiring diversity. Beautiful written journal spreads and creative layered soulful healing art. I love it all. I feel so much love, appreciation and inspiration. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to see you a little bit. Sending you lots of kind energy ✨💫 💕
Oh Candy I can relate to all of these!! Only I don’t have dogs, there is no excuse for my garden. I swear my greenhouse looks like a scene from a post-apocalypse tale, it’s full of passionflower that shouldn’t be there 🙈😂 I have come to love having many projects on the go at once though, whether creative or study - it means I can pick & choose depending on mood! Same goes for books - it’s like having your own personal library, curated just for you 😊🧡
You made me laugh out loud for real describing your greenhouse. But passionflowers! Oh my! I’ve tried to grow those all my life and I can’t imagine them inside a greenhouse I’d be so tempted to give them the greenhouse as a home if they appeared here! Do you know it’s been so fantastic reading everybody’s comments I think it’s helped no end to say yes no fails just fun here ❤️❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil the passionflowers are growing all over a trellis that’s there for a bit of privacy, but then it turns out they’re like triffids and are growing everywhere else as well! In through the roof of greenhouse, up from under the paving slabs. My next door neighbour asked about a cutting last year & I was surprised they weren’t already venturing in under her paving slabs too!!! Incredibly beautiful flowers though, I completely agree. It was only a cheap one from Lidl, apparently it thrives on neglect 🙈😂
Hope you are feeling better now Candy; I think we all get overwhelmed at times like, too much to do and so little time to do it all! I also love books and have so many to read and yet keep buying more then worrying about where to put them all...but I wouldn't be without them..the same goes for ever increasing tarot packs; however, celebrating our individuality is important, understanding that we are all perfectly imperfect and it's okay♥ you are definitely not alone dear Candy.
Oh candy I so feel your pain 😢 I have lots of projects in my mind and I get paralysed by indecision and either don’t start anything or too many to manage. I drive myself MAD!!! And I have so many unread books it’s embarrassing truly. I’ve foraged and made an apothecary and the not made anything with my supplies and has turned really into an aesthetic rather than a practice 😢
Oh and i forgot i love your David Bowie Troll also🥰I haven't mentioned the Toy Tarot as i know how busy you are and i didn't want to pressure you. I would Love it if you do finish it but you need to do what makes you Happy!!! Book tour would be Great as i was pausing and writing down books that looked good lol 😂xxoo
I know exactly what you mean by 'scattered ideas'. Since having to retire from my job in my 50s I have had so many ideas of creative projects. Trouble is it often takes all of my energy just to get up and dressed most mornings, then I get overwhelmed with all i would like to do. I have learned that I need to work with my limitations and as long as we keep trying and like you say just do a bit at a time but as consistently as we are able to we are not failures. ❤❤😊 Get well soon dear Candy.
I read somewhere a long time ago that the mind of a creative soul was a scattered one filled with pauses, complete stops, and restarts, and new projects......all at the same time. That's me. Then add Sagittarius sun ,and that phrase is now Uber scattered. 😅 If you could see the multitude of projects I have around my studio in various stages of process, you would find a kindred Spirit, Candy. I don't call them fails, because I'm not failing. I'm just in a continuous state of doing, creating, making, thinking of the next project before I complete the 20 current projects. LOL! No, dear, you are not 'failing.' You are just living life daily and doing what needs to be done. And there's no shame and no fail in that. We all do the best we can do with what we have to give. And, never compare yourself to others. You are uniquely you, and I am beyond happy that you share your beautiful soul with us. Love and hugs, witch sister. Lindsey
Failure is not having tried. You try in all directions! So many people sit around and never tackle something new. Does being creative mean you have to finish everything you start to create--who says? I am one of those who wants to see your Toy Tarot done someday--maybe if you get a bunch of us working on the business end of it, it will happen. I'm ready to help 💖
I'm starting to think consistency is a myth, something we learn to strive for thanks to capitalism and the value placed on being productive. I really struggle with consistency in all of my practices and hobbies and always feel shame about not being able to be consistent. But I just can't! Life happens. I have less energy than I'd hoped. Etc etc. I'm trying to be kinder to myself and just let it be... Also, gardening is HARD! lol. My mother has a green thumb, so I feel a lot of shame over not enjoying gardening, even more now that I'm in this witchy space. But it's really hard work that can be difficult to keep up on top of everything else. Thank you for sharing this video. It looks like it's allowing a lot of your viewers to feel seen and to see you ❤
Oh candy…I’m only half way through the video and I just wanted to send you a massive hug and say you are definitely not a failure. You are a single mum, which I should imagine is difficult enough as it is, let alone Tilly’s needs and all you went through last year helping your children finding college and university places, preparing and setting them in, in addition to their normal school runs too. All the visits and paperwork that that entailed, all in addition to just getting through the day. Then you have your caravan, a second home to care for and the work you managed to do there this summer. Yes things have slipped, but you prioritised your children and that is what makes you amazing. So please stop being so hard on yourself. It’s time to take care of yourself. Sorry if this sounds a bit naggy, but us mums have enough to contend without being hard on ourselves too. When you feel up to it I would love a bookshelf tour, only so I can add to my groaning bookshelves of books to read 😂. On the cat front..I am surrounded by neighbours that seem to collect cats and it drives me and my dog crazy, but we have discovered that by squirting water at them, whether it’s by hose or water pistol 🤭 the cats will soon stop visiting. Sorry I don’t know whether I can watch any more of this video as I hate to see you being so hard on yourself but I do, as always appreciate your honesty. Sending loads of love to you and your family. ❤
Aww Tanya thank you lovely. I’m worried now it came across more hard on myself than I intended. I was going for honest but self forgiving. Thank you so much for your beautiful words. I’m so sorry if I gave you a harder watch than I intended ❤️❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil please don’t apologise I always love your honesty. It was just my interpretation. Being peri menopausal I’m finding that I’m very defensive when others put themselves down, especially women. Maybe I need to explore the reasons for this 😬🤭❤️
Hope you get well soon lovely, don't put yourself under so much pressure you are only human. You've got so much to contend with in your life I think you are amazing with what you do achieve, love & hugs ❤😘
To be fair, it’s been a rainy old summer, and most people are so far behind, my lawn has turned into a green sponge (I decided I would cut but not collect - not one of my better ideas) next year will be better 😍🪻🌷
Wonderful video. I recognize the book thing..wanting to read and fall asleep. Also the projects unfinished. My garden ...i wanted a magic garden too, with a labyrinth and herbes. I gave it up but instead i thought. Well perhaps just weeding and sit in the garden enjoying it is enough. To be werking on every area right is sth we perhaps cannot do all at once. With a walk ...i put a stone in the hole of a tree as an offering to the fairy folk is magic enough! With the last clearing in the garden i made a little broomstick of the wood that was left. Also on the last walk i pickedr leaves of plants of protection. Often are those plants with thorns....and put it in my own medicijnen bag with Stones i find dring this walk. ❤ sometimes simple is beautiful enough. The failed projects of mine are now on the list of 2026 to do.... 😅 now i dont feel guilty anymore ....perhaps that is of use for you. Thank you for this video. We are all human after all 🎉❤
You are enough and you teach us that each of us is enough in our own special way. We don't need to do the perfect pretty witchy things which we see on social media. We just need to do what feels good inside and what comes naturally to us. Thank you for sharing your insecurity which feels so familiar
Thank you for your vulnerability, Candy 💖🙏 we are often our harshest critics, and imposter syndrome is so real 😔 for myself, my brain is always automatically comparing me to everyone else, that’s how my caretakers programmed me, and it’s exhausting, it’s like self flagellation. We don’t need to do things like others do, our practice doesn’t need to ressemble that of others, but it’s easier said than done. If I may, many things that you’ve shared have inspired me, and given me ideas for my own practice 💖😄Thank you for sharing your thoughts, sending you good vibrations 🙏💖😊🧚♂️
@@CandySoulAndSoil Candy if you could, could you do a short vid on how to create those journalling pages, like the ones you make in your art/ journal. How to get started, themes, what to write etc. Your vid has motivated me to get back to my art journalling, but I could do with some ideas.
Regarding your spell work. I see you as someone who incorporates a lot of spellwork into your life. I havent been on this path long but wgat I like about it is that we can as much or as little as we want to. No pressure. Your artwork is your magic.❤😊 i think if you see something as witchcraft then it is. It doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. We are all unique and I love your grimoires. You are enough.
Oh, you could really do something with your toy tarot! That's cool. I asked my son for help with little parts at a time in my garden. Having some help has been so nice! It goes double fast with 2. Good luck with your garden. I hope you can get some help! ♥️ Your craft is absolutely artsy. 🖌️
it feels soooooooooo good to see your tarot journal! tbh i love it. that's mine too and i'm an artist also! this obsession with aesthetics is just impossible to keep up. love every letter you've handwritten there. absolutely lovely!
I loved watching this, it didn't seem like a fail tale to me, more like an honest look at a very busy, creative life with so much going on that it gets overwhelming at times. Such beautiful artwork and a book collection that would make a great video ,so please do that bookshelf tour!❤❤🌻💐
I was wondering what happened to your toy tarot. What card is the one you showed supposed to be? I love these paintings so so much and would definitely buy the tarot.
Hi candy life happens. You are a goddess and a beautiful woman. Don’t bother how other people do things. They could be the same behind closed doors. People that come to watch your channel come for you because I love your content and your authenticity. ❤
Im the same with books. I have loads on my shelf and I find it difficult to part with them when I finally get round to reading them. I would love a tour of your bookshelves. I notice we have some of the same witchy books abs self help books. I have a lot of Buddhism books too. 😊
I have followed you for a while, and I have been impressed with all that you do fit into your life. As I listen to you talk, it occurs to me that you might be coming at things a little backwards. You seem to be trying to figure out how the things that you do in the art that you express and the altars that you make and the gardening that you do could fit into someone else’s definition of witchiness. It seems to me, from what you are saying here and what I have experienced of your life through your videos, that you have been a witch, perhaps all your life, and all of this springs from innate witchiness. And because it is innate you discount it, as you said in this video. But if you were able to switch your view to thinking of yourself as already there, and all that you do as being an expression of your witchy side, you could relax and enjoy who you are. I apologize if I overstep.
Was watching your video (imbolc) and regarding spoons earlier, I think it's not failing when life happens and things get in the way. Although I accept I fail at some things I have determination to do others. You do so much and more you don't need me to tell you to be kind to yourself. As one fellow bibliophile to another, ooooh yes please, just for future reference 😉. I see your art as magic, it ignites a spark of joy and inspiration. Failing is something that we can do and move on or choose to say no and believe we don't have to. I haven't watched other videos yet, but this was very interesting. Thank you deeply your raw thoughts are very appreciated. Best of wishes 🙏💜🙏
❤❤❤ Yes! I agree. It doesn't do us good if we don't do the work through this tag mindfully. You can say you are not where you want 5o be with self empowerment, which is rwally not a bad place to be. Life happens. He us handsome! :D i love how you describe witchcraft as demanding of enwrgy. Very insughtful. I agree that writing helps. Oh I've got lots of unread books too. We should do videos. I haven't done spells much either. I haven't felt the need, but yeah. Qe gotta practice. Yeah. I feel similarly different. I find magic in everyrhing. We all work our magic differently. Yes! The battle of self validation verses trusting ourselves.
Oh sweetie ❤ you are such a big inspiration for me. Everything you do is like magic. Magic is what you make of it. Not what you should do. There is no witches police out there. Just us. Everything you love. Your art Your love of nature and adventure walks … that is magical. Who cares about a couldron. I dont use it either. I stick prayers on a cadle for Kali. Thats my magic. I pull cards that I choose for Afrodite for mannefesting what I want. Thats my magic. There are no judges. Everything you do with intent is magic. I dont see myself as a witch. Just because the label does not matter. You do you girl and your wonderful. It hurts me if you think little about yourself because I admire you so so much ❤. We are human. And you are a tresure. Dont you ever ever forget it ❤
I have been struggling with my to-be-read shelf for years. the last time I cleared it out was 1998, and all it took was one free box of books on the side of the road to build it back up again. I do read quite a bit, but between the thrift store and used book sales and little free libraries and gifts, quite a lot come in (I really buy very few new) and then if I go to the library I'll get caught up there and my owned books are abandoned. I really do want to read all of them and be at a point where a book comes in and I read it, and I can go to the library and just read without buying - I think it's going to feel so freeing. I have books on that shelf that have been there for 20 years. it's just been between 50 and 70 books for years and years. this year I've made an effort to target some of the older ones. it's not something I'm going to get done this year, it's apparent at this point, but I did get a spreadsheet and get more organized about it, which I think will really help. dividing between what I've gotten in the past three years and what has been sitting 4-26 years has been important because those older (fat nonfiction books) are more of a burden in my mind than a recent novel that I can probably read in a day or two if I pick it up. and then there's my project of scanning in all my old photo albums.........I start each year thinking I'm going to get it all done, but that's nonsense. but I am getting some done. watching this I kept thinking about you talking about your kids leaving home and how you would miss them - but you'll also have more time (which will be good because I just remembered the quilts you were talking about making from their old clothes 🙂)
I heard one time that if someone hasn't read a book, the best response isn't "You haven't read that yet?!?!" but should be "You are in for a treat." but, not gonna lie, I was shocked when you said that you think that you don't practice magic enough or practice it 'right'
you're the most magical person I've ever seen, and to me you don't practice magic - you breathe it, you live it, you embody it to me
I have a pretty weird practice of my own, and I always turn to your videos when I feel uninspired or lost
the way you speak and tell stories is full of magic too, even when you're simply talking about your latest thrift finds
that's a real gift that has to be cherished
I really hope that further on you're more proud of how many brilliant ideas you come up with and how much you actually try to do something, rather than ashamed of how inconsistent things are occasionally
I think that next you should film a video (or maybe just journal in private) about everything you've managed to achieve against all odds - no matter how small those things are - to see your greatness that is very evident to me and, I'm sure, the rest of your viewers ❤
hope you'll start feeling better soon ❤

Oh Candy I can relate to all of these!! Only I don’t have dogs, there is no excuse for my garden. I swear my greenhouse looks like a scene from a post-apocalypse tale, it’s full of passionflower that shouldn’t be there 🙈😂
I have come to love having many projects on the go at once though, whether creative or study - it means I can pick & choose depending on mood!
Yes! Thank you Irene thats so comforting to know isn't it!❤️
So much poetry and truth in your videos. Watching you put peace and calm in my body… thank you Candy 🌸
Aww thank you so much ❤️❤️
Oh candy I so feel your pain 😢 I have lots of projects in my mind and I get paralysed by indecision and either don’t start anything or too many to manage. I drive myself MAD!!! And I have so many unread books it’s embarrassing truly. I’ve foraged and made an apothecary and the not made anything with my supplies and has turned really into an aesthetic rather than a practice 😢
Penny I hear you I really do. 🥰❤️
Oh and i forgot i love your David Bowie Troll also🥰I haven't mentioned the Toy Tarot as i know how busy you are and i didn't want to pressure you. I would Love it if you do finish it but you need to do what makes you Happy!!! Book tour would be Great as i was pausing and writing down books that looked good lol 😂xxoo
lol I will then sunshine dawn for sure do a book tour ❤️❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil Thank you my Friend 🤗🤗🙏🏻🙏🏻🧡🧡
I know exactly what you mean by 'scattered ideas'. Since having to retire from my job in my 50s I have had so many ideas of creative projects. Trouble is it often takes all of my energy just to get up and dressed most mornings, then I get overwhelmed with all i would like to do. I have learned that I need to work with my limitations and as long as we keep trying and like you say just do a bit at a time but as consistently as we are able to we are not failures. ❤❤😊 Get well soon dear Candy.
Thank you Lizzie ❤️
And it’s certainly brilliant art witchery ❤
Aaa thank you ☺️
I read somewhere a long time ago that the mind of a creative soul was a scattered one filled with pauses, complete stops, and restarts, and new projects......all at the same time. Lindsey
Lindsey that is so lovely thank you I appreciate you so much ❤️
Failure is not having tried.
Aww you are so lovely Nancy I’m so happy I met you in this space. Thank you ☺️
I'm starting to think consistency is a myth, something we learn to strive for thanks to capitalism and the value placed on being productive. It looks like it's allowing a lot of your viewers to feel seen and to see you ❤
Thank you for this yes I think you are onto something perhaps you need the perfectly in the zone life for consistency ❤️
You've got so much to contend with in your life I think you are amazing with what you do achieve, love & hugs ❤😘
sue thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
To be fair, it’s been a rainy old summer, and most people are so far behind, my lawn has turned into a green sponge (I decided I would cut but not collect - not one of my better ideas) next year will be better 😍🪻🌷
Always next year ❤️❤️
Wonderful video. We are all human after all 🎉❤
Blessed be candy ❤
thank you so much Lin I appreciate all of this wise insight and yes simple is beautiful enough ❤️
You are enough and you teach us that each of us is enough in our own special way. We don't need to do the perfect pretty witchy things which we see on social media. We just need to do what feels good inside and what comes naturally to us. Thank you for sharing your insecurity which feels so familiar
Thank you for spotting the familiar ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this Tom I so appreciate you ❤️
Just your artwork alone...if thats not magic then I dont know what is! ❤And a yes to a book tour too
Aww thank you ❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil Candy if you could, could you do a short vid on how to create those journalling pages, like the ones you make in your art/ journal.
Thank you so much Lizzie ❤️❤️❤️
Your magic is unique to you and there is plenty there that is full of witchcraft despite how others do it ❤
Carrie thank you ❤️❤️
Oh, you could really do something with your toy tarot! That's cool.
I asked my son for help with little parts at a time in my garden. Having some help has been so nice! It goes double fast with 2. Good luck with your garden. I hope you can get some help! ♥️
Your craft is absolutely artsy. 🖌️
thank you Tina ❤️
it feels soooooooooo good to see your tarot journal! tbh i love it. that's mine too and i'm an artist also! this obsession with aesthetics is just impossible to keep up. love every letter you've handwritten there. absolutely lovely!
aww thank you so much ❤️❤️
I loved watching this, it didn't seem like a fail tale to me, more like an honest look at a very busy, creative life with so much going on that it gets overwhelming at times. Such beautiful artwork and a book collection that would make a great video ,so please do that bookshelf tour!❤❤🌻💐
Thank you so much I appreciate that ❤️❤️
Gosh, I’d love to purchase the Hermit’s original painting! 😍😍😍
aww Maria well if I ever get my act together ill give you first dibs ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was wondering what happened to your toy tarot.
What card is the one you showed supposed to be? I love these paintings so so much and would definitely buy the tarot.
thank you so much the one on the easel is the 4 of pentacles ❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil Beautiful! Your talent is outstanding! ❤️
Hi candy life happens. You are a goddess and a beautiful woman. Don’t bother how other people do things. They could be the same behind closed doors. People that come to watch your channel come for you because I love your content and your authenticity. ❤
Thank you so much 🤗Amanda thats more than kind ❤️
Im the same with books. I have loads on my shelf and I find it difficult to part with them when I finally get round to reading them. I would love a tour of your bookshelves. I notice we have some of the same witchy books abs self help books. I have a lot of Buddhism books too. 😊
Ok I will do a book shelf tour ❤️
Eileen thank you for this and sharing your wisdom I appreciate that so much ❤️❤️❤️
Feel better soon ❤❤
thank you Patricia ❤️
Best of wishes 🙏💜🙏
thank you Clair so much ❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤ Yes!
Thank you so much for watching I appreciate this ❤️❤️
your art witch books are so beautiful and magical
Thank you ☺️
Oh sweetie ❤ you are such a big inspiration for me. Everything you do is like magic. Magic is what you make of it. Not what you should do. There is no witches police out there. Just us.
Everything you love.
Your art
Your love of nature and adventure walks … that is magical.
Dont you ever ever forget it ❤
Thank you so much Lizzie this is so uplifting I really appreciate you ❤️❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil Lizzie? Lol 😜
Oh I hear you about the way the books build up yes I’ll have more time for sure to get to things I hope ❤️
