... this is one extremely beautiful (if not the most beautiful I have ever llistened to) rendition of this joyful raag .. I cannot even believe this was recorded in 1975 .... timeless .... in my opinion, there will never be another sitar guru of this rang ....
I somehow also feel some pathos intertwined with joy in this raag. It invokes an emotion which is very hard for me to describe in words! Such an outstanding recording!
I hear how he begins with profound grounding, dhrupad ang foundation - then he takes us to the cosmos. And it is all one in his hands, his mind, his spirit. This is his gift to us.
