Thanks for the review. My father had a 1973, same colour (Glacier White) but an Automatic. Which given it shared the engine oil, was quite a feat and one of the few things that didn't give trouble! I ended up driving it in the mid 80's and it was great fun, shame about the tin worm.....

There is a lot to be said for simplicity and manual chokes. The more people you speak to these days particularly mechanics don't have a lot of good to say about the plug in era of cars and ecu's. Technology is fine when it works but keeping it simple makes life easier. Its strange how at one time people didn't want clubmans but its now amazing how much 1275gt's make are are now fashionable. Mini's are great and have such personalities. You can make them what you want.

Thanks for that. What a nice unspoilt car, and that sound is great.

Ah, I'd forgotten about the rubber cone! So easy to lower just by chopping a bit of the cone off.

My frist car was a'72 Mini Clubman saloon and I have on my mantelpiece a wheel-trim and the boot badge from that car! Obviously it was very similar but there were a few slight interior differences. I later had a MiniVan and the rear half of this estate is very similar indeed. Incidentally, and to to best of my knowledge, 'tourer' was never associated with Mini. The earlier round fronted versions were called 'traveller' and these later Clubman models simply 'estate'.

1275 Gt is the ultimate in my books. (Other than an engine swapped mini van)

*WARNING* Probably don't need to say, but I hope there is some grease on those valve caps to stop them chemically welding themselves together.
