    Thank you, Fiction Beast, always informative and with great insights.
    One observation is that when psychology happens when one goes and asks, "What is wrong with me?" That is selfish narcissism. One is asking to be fixed. When one goes in, if he asks what is wrong with racism, colonization, etc. One is seeing the problem. he did his dissertation paper twice, in France which took him to take on Satre. Amazing thinker and writer.
    Franz Omar Fannon, psychiatrist and forensic psychiatrist , was born in the Martinique French colony of France. I am now reading two of his books, The Wretched Earth," and "Black Skin & White Masks."

    Psychology is understanding the software thru a software when the main problem is the hardware abt which we know nothing abt.

      It is quite telling, that it annoyed you that you couldn't easily make out a couple of words, at the end.
      Very good stuff, this guy is really well read. Bravo to Fiction Beast!
      It annoyed me too, of course, but a very minor inconvenience, on an otherwise very nice and informative video.

      It is a detail thing, I have no problem with there being an outro, just that it began to early and increased in volume to fast over the calm quiet voice. I did have to focus harder on hearing the words, but I did hear them. It was a flourish that needs fine tuning.

    You can use Psychological Theories as a general set of ideas and observations about the forces that govern human behavior, but they absolutely fail at an individual level. Talk therapies in particular are absolute bullsh1t. It's like Voodoo or a mentalist trick at best, outright manipulation at worst. And the manipulators are more common than the mental health community would have you believe (I personally ran into one that "treated" my ex once. Absolute nightmare). Any therapy session is a subjective interpretation of a subjective interpretation. It's a worthless tool as clinical diagnosis goes and several studies have proven that. 4 different therapists will have 6 different opinions of the same patient. Not to mention faddish. In the 50s and 60s it was Neuroticism, then Depression and now Anxiety. What happened to all the Neurotics? LOL. Meanwhile, Big Pharma's got your pill for you. Usually a derivative of amphetamine. Good luck, you'll need it.

      @vdub6343 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, though (I’d hope) most people don’t view them more as common tendencies/trends. Like, effect sizes don’t even warrant anything higher than that in most cases. Neuroticism never went away, btw, but instead is just called something different. Like, the actual symptoms still exist. Also, as for stimulants, that’s pretty much just for adhd as far as psych stuff goes. There’s some off label uses, but those are kinda dodgy. Not to say SSRIs are anywhere near perfect, but they’re faaar from amphetamine derivatives.
      Yeah, some therapists are unfortunately human. And shitty.

    modern science has limitations due to objectivity. latest researches are now starting to focus on subjectivity which will help in understanding things more in depth. human mind and existence is more than objective reality, eastern philosophies focus on this more.

    ❤thanks. You have shown amazing progress by daring to speak on a very difficult subject where quantitative, qualitative aspects are very difficult to interpret correctly. That one by two is static large LAMBDA with low frequency and one by sixteen is indicating further progressing of cognitive abilities. Thanks and good luck to you.

    The environment for conducting and reporting psychological research seems to have improved considerably in just over a decade.
    For my part, I would like to continue to refer to psychological research in my thinking about human psychology. Even though psychology itself has its own problems, I feel it is more trustworthy than my intuition.

    First off insane or sane are legal terms and not medical terms showing your lack of understanding and furthermore as someone with an education in psychology this is poorly researched and intentionally biased. You are using old ideas and debunked studies to argue your point. There is no mention of DBT or CBT or other effective treatment or the mention of the DSM-5.

    • @Armorius2199

      Same feeling mate. Most people who don't actually study psychology still talk about theories of Freud, Jung and Adler from a century ago. Ignoring most development and progress of the last 100 years. Like talking about astrophysics whilst ignoring that we have landed on the moon.

    • @chuntoon1
      @chuntoon1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right .. if you gather 1000 people, you can't tell anything about any induvial, but you could know so much about them all at the same. You'd have bell curves for almost all their behavior to predict with wild accuracy both how some fraction of them they'll behave and how to influence them, yet the harder you try to drill down the less water any of your ideas about them carries.
