- Updated on 16/11/2020: Thank you for discussing this video overwhelmingly. I know you guys all having strong passion for Cats and I am glad that people enjoy this video so much. This is preview performance for media at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. I forgot the actual date.
I represent my own website culture-on.com to attend this preview performance. It is difficult for me to take a video for 16 minutes and try to keep my camera steady when I was chasing the main character moving. In fact, to focus on my camera, I missed some enjoyment and further observation in live performance . Of course, once finished filming and watch the video, it would be such satisfaction. Especially experiencing such hard times in the world (and also in Hong Kong these years), it must be treasure for us to have great performance in our lives.

this doesn't even look like a performance for an audience, given the cameras, and they're still giving it their all.
I performed on broadway in my country. Usually before we start our run, we would have a "media day" which is probably what you see here. We have to perform evenly as we would perform in front of a real audience, or even better, because those pictures and videos is what will be shown all over

K so Skimbleshanks is my fav and a comfort character for me, so casually I’m watching him in the background. And for some reason I feel like he’d be a very forgiving character, someone who doesn’t like to be mean. So during Memory when he was one of the first ones to turn around and start listening to Grizabella it made me so unreasonably happy💖💖💖

This Grizabella made me cry.
I think it would be so much better if Grizabella was painted as an Egyptian Mau. It is was one of the rarer breeds and sought after for its beauty.
But she is suppose to be an older version of Bumbalurina. They are glamorous and would fall for a bad guy like Macavity. A pedigree breed cat like Cassandra wouldn't even care for him.

Neither - wrong year. :) This is the 2018 cast, who opened in Hong Kong on 6 January. This media night would have been shortly before that. Mistoffelees here is Alex Harrison.

This is the international tour that came up after the London revival had closed. It started in 2016 in the UK, then toured Dubai, Germany and other European countries and is currently touring Asia. It will come back to Europe next year, playing the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Belgium and Switzerland.
Yeah it's the international tour with the UK West End cast.
It seems like this was a medley-performance for the press during the Asian part of the tour.

What fool made the decision to cut The Invitation to the Jellicle Ball? You could possibly get away with cutting Naming of Cats and The Old Gumby Cat, but The Invitation to the Jellicle Ball is absolutely vital to the story. The whole show doesn't make a lick of sense without that piece. It's one of the very few songs that you absolutely cannot cut if you want a decent show.

The choreography is essentially the same, but the Rum Tum Tugger's voice is not at all the same, and Elaine Paige (1998 film)'s Memory is much more mastered than this one - but then again, this Grizabella can be forgiven by this being both live and in a press shoot.
