He amassed 227 goals and 451 assists in his career (which was cut short by an eye injury. His 678 regular season points would be #1 for a German player, if the criteria is being born in that country. Every quiz I hope someone other than Corwin will win, because he's just so humble. Every time I watch, I'm disappointed. I'm rooting for Jesse, much to my own chagrin. Bonus Question idea: There are hundreds of players who have played more than 100 games in the NHL, after having never been drafted. Only 43 of them are goalies. Name this goalie, a hockey hall of famer, with the most wins of that group. Alternatively, it could also be: Name 3 of them that have more than 200 Wins.
Between Messiers interaction with Steve Dangle, Jesse's experience, and his time in Vancouver, seems theres a lot of instances of Messier being a bit of a difficult person. At the very least hes not much of a people person, yet makes you rethink why they have a Leadership award named after him, yet Gretzky doesnt have a single award named after him.
Hey BarDown, you might want to pin this since I've seen some comments addressing this... 1. The IIHF World Ranking is based on two tournaments: The World Championship and the Olympics. It takes into account the last four World Championships, and the last Olympics (with more recent results holding more weight). 2. The rankings in this video are the 2021 rankings, finalized after the 2021 World Championship. So it includes results from the 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 World Championships and the 2018 Olympic tournament (where a tournament was cancelled by the pandemic, rankings were given based on seed or pre-championship ranking). 3. The reason Sweden was ranked where they were in 2021 was because at the 2021 World Championship, they missed the quarterfinals. That hurt their ranking quite considerably. Meanwhile, since the 2018 Olympics were still part of the calculation, Germany got a boost from their Olympic silver. 4. A new ranking is released after every World Championship and Olympics. About one month after this video was posted, the IIHF released a 2022 post-Olympic ranking. It was there that Finland overtook Canada for the top spot.
And by the way, keeping on latvian theme. Here is bonus question for next quiz: There have been 5 latvian goaltenders who played in NHL name 3 of them! That's a good question. 👌
As a German it felt so good when you said, and in fifth spot it’s Germany. But honestly I completely over estimated Marco Sturm. Thought he is still ahead of Draisaitl.
Bonus Question: Prior to the 1940-41 season, when an NHL goalie was called for a penalty he actually had to go sit in the box, and his team had to put one of their defensemen or forwards in net while their goalie served his penalty. Who was the last NHL goalie to serve a penalty in the box, and what was his penalty for?
Holy shit that is insane. The will never ever get the answer to that though. You could almost make it a true or false question that a goalie had to sit in the box after taking a penalty

He was my favorite player as a kid in the 70’s. Thank you.
This is the most fun I've had watching a video in a long time ... love it 🇺🇸
Early exit on the home team, I went Modano like the truck that I am ..
I am Latvian and i am surprised corwin actualy got Sandis Ozoliņš and yes thats how you write his name in latvian.
Lifelong Sharks fans over age 30 like me know what a legend Ozolins is and what he did for Latvian hockey.
I feel like the guys should do a quiz on just NHL goalies in general.
agreed
Corwin is humble as often as Gretzky lifts the puck 😅
Love the retro Arsenal jersey, Corwin! COYG!
Bonus question: If you watched the nhl all star skills competition you saw Jack Hughes and mini Jack what handed was mini Jack ?
Bonus question: name 5 people to score 5 goals in a single game
I believe the two most recent are Timo Meier and Marian Gaborik
@@foggyaf5531 Patrik Laine is more recent than gaborik
@@asada135 Ahh fair enough. Didn't know he had a 5er
Mario Lemieux had his famous "5 goals, 5 ways" game!
Not knowing the Sandis Ozolinsh one, c’mon. That’s like taken straight outta the history books for a hockey buff like you, Jesse😂 You like that!
Next Quiz -- What Junior Teams Were The Following NHL Players Drafted From?
Not sure if you guys have done one yet but i'd love to see an enforcers quiz! Maybe player with most PIMS, fights, suspensions etc for each team?
Between Messiers interaction with Steve Dangle, Jesse's experience, and his time in Vancouver, seems theres a lot of instances of Messier being a bit of a difficult person. At the very least hes not much of a people person, yet makes you rethink why they have a Leadership award named after him, yet Gretzky doesnt have a single award named after him.
rather be bald than a drunkie
@@moda5629 Messier was a big time coke head though bud
Can you do a nhl coaches quiz
This is a great moment as a Fin! Sweden is 7th :D
Stutzle ❤
Great quiz guys. 🤘 And thank you for not butchering Sandis Ozolinsh last name, because I have the same one. 😂 Keep up good work. 🤘
And by the way, keeping on latvian theme. Here is bonus question for next quiz: There have been 5 latvian goaltenders who played in NHL name 3 of them! That's a good question. 👌
Nope Finland is number 1 now hahahahaha
Huuuge respect to Corwin for wearing such a legendary Arsenal shirt!
i'm starting to think that corwin is super humble
Bonus question, what was the longest streak of one team defeating an opponent 4-0 in the Stanley Cup finals? How many years? What are the teams?
Corwin literally has a hockey encyclopedia drilled in his brain.
Gee Canada is like so humble
As a German it felt so good when you said, and in fifth spot it’s Germany. But honestly I completely over estimated Marco Sturm. Thought he is still ahead of Draisaitl.
Germany earned their way to that spot. Between the 2018 Olympic silver and the 2021 World Championship semifinal appearance.
Bonus Question:
Prior to the 1940-41 season, when an NHL goalie was called for a penalty he actually had to go sit in the box, and his team had to put one of their defensemen or forwards in net while their goalie served his penalty. Who was the last NHL goalie to serve a penalty in the box, and what was his penalty for?
Holy shit that is insane. The will never ever get the answer to that though. You could almost make it a true or false question that a goalie had to sit in the box after taking a penalty
@@jaredsteier1868 that’s a good point. It’s no fun if they don’t have at least some chance of answering the question correctly. Lol!
Next quiz Idea….Hockey Movies! There’s so many good ones. It would be easy to find some less mainstream movies that could stump the crew.
