The dad was more progressive/open minded/fair than i gave him credit for at first glance. In my own personal experience, a lot of immigrant parents his age if given the power to pick a partner for their son/daughter would immediately pick someone who's the same/similar race as their child (Wilson since he's also Asian even though he's Singaporean and Nikki is Vietnamese) or someone American or European white (Ben) because white Americans/Europeans are often perceived by older generation immigrants as being a high status/value partner and people like KJ and Anthony would have been bottom two. Regardless of what their personalities actually were almost. So it was cool to see him actually give them all a fair shake and rank them according to what he truly thought was the best personality for his daughter.
