Connect the positive (red) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery, then connect the other end of the cable to the positive terminal of the donor vehicle's battery.
Connect the negative (black) jumper cable to the negative terminal of the donor vehicle's battery, then connect the other end of the cable to a metal surface on the machine's engine block or frame. This is to avoid any sparks or damage to the battery.
Start the engine of the donor vehicle and let it run for a few minutes to charge the dead battery.
Try starting the engine of the machine. If it starts, disconnect the jumper cables in reverse order and close the engine compartment.
If you are using a portable battery charger, follow the instructions provided with the charger to connect it to the battery and charge it. Make sure to disconnect the charger before starting the engine.
