As a kid growing up this music was a part of my life every Sunday morning when I was a youngster watching "This Week in the NFL and "NFL Game of the Week" on channel 9 when we only had 4 channels back then!.
Real football fans growing up to this music could make up their own minds without 1000's men and WOMEN telling who is great and who is not on so many different media platforms! And this music brings back so many great memories
Simply magnificent! So much of my positive childhood memories are here. The whole NFL Films/NFL Films Music thing was a marriage made in heaven. The league's future success was forged here. Color motion pictures with stirring, engaging, powerful music. The stuff of legends. Thanks to the Sabols and Sam Spence.
NFL Music seemed to be something almost magic when I was a kid. I could mever figure out where all this great stuff came from. I didn't realize until Ihad geown up that talentrd composers like Sam Spence and the great musicians he worked with made it all happen.
Found about 10? of these cd's at an estate sale. Regret selling them, but they went for good money. Anyone see that special NFL films on the production process? After the games they sent the film prints to Germany where the music was conducted. The orchestra would watch the edited highlights on film and play along. Very interesting.
If you watch the 1972 NFC Championship Game as NFL Game Of The Week on TH-cam, from the 5:57 mark to the 8:25 mark is a fantastic song. I remember it from my childhood watching the syndicated NFL Game Of The Week. Sounds like it's from Sam Spence. However, I didn't hear it on this video. Does anybody know what the song is?
If you ever wander back this way, the song your looking for is from William Loose, who also did NFL Films music. I believe the title is "Last Second Victory"
If I have this CD set, I'll add these songs into Madden NFL 2004-09 because I love these tracks. Sure they're not as good as the highlight music from NFL Primetime, but I'll take a whole bunch of NFL Films music tracks over the soundtracks that the Madden games have in the past 20 years.
Would you happen to know the title of the Tony Luisi music people on TH-cam call it the Vikings theme from Super bowl 4, I say it called something else. Thanks.
