Hello, thank you for the informative videos; this channel has taught me so much in the last couple of years. I have a quick question : Do pigments and dyes used on PU Elastomers fade over time due to UV degradation? If yes, is there a way to prevent it?
What is the best way to add white pigments to an amber plastic (i.e. neutralizing the amberness)? What is the process for matching a color to a CMYK code the customer provides?
Depending on how UV stable the material is, painting might be better. In that case, pigment as close as possible using pigments/dyes, and then paint the exact color onto the cast part. In this case the intrinsic color is insurance against scrapes and chips.
Love these tips. Such a great topic. Adding pigments and dyes to casting materials is a question we handle with customers often. 😎👏
Absolutely!!
thank you, this is very useful
Glad it was helpful!😊

The pigments and dyes, no. The material they are added to will determine UV sensitivity/color stability.
