'Living on a wire
With a heart full of desire
Burning in that fire
But I’d rather burn then be lost in the mire
Compelled
To live like this
For my heart takes me on its own journey
And it cares not where it leads me
To share a story and feeling
In stories we find meaning
And not for the first time I’ve hit the hard ground, broke and broken.
But my old friend reminded me that I’ve always made it through, and bless her she’s an artist and she’s a mother too. So, she knows a thing about giving and loving and giving and loving and in that way we’re all artists. And in that way we are all artists. Through and through, through and though.
I picked myself up. I realised how blessed I was to live an artists life. To have been given the gift to speak through the heart and I remembered that that’s its own reward. The artists reward. As all our gifts are rewards. Given with the promise to pass them on. And as long as we do they remain. As long as we do they remain. That’s the deal.
