- Want to go to a Lolita meet but not wear a dress? Kodona is one of the male equivalents to Lolita fashion. Girls and boys can wear Kodona! This outfit is done on a very tight money and time budget, so you don't have to spend lots of money to be able to join a meet!
And don't think our captain James is getting out of wearing a pretty dress!!

Love it! My son is very much enamored with Japanese culture and has recently shown interest in Lolita. One of my friend's daughters is already into Lolita so I have someone local I can commission for costuming but for starters, this is great! Thanks. :)

I used to watch your videos a lot when I was younger, Cathy, and they really helped me with my decisions with fashion, which I used as a vessel for exploring my identity as a whole; I came out as transgender not long after watching some of your videos. James always made me laugh, and I'm glad I remembered these videos, they still make me smile, even five years on. Though I don't dress lolita anymore (I 'graduated' onto authentic vintage styles) I do still try to incorporate some elements of other fashion subcultures into my style overall, and that includes lolita. I'd love to try to do an Edwardian or maybe even 1930s Kodona androgynous look, with a twist of Marlene Dietrich for good measure! Anyway, I'm enjoying this trip down memory lane, and I do hope you're all still in touch with one another- you made such darling videos! - Alexandra

Cute as always, I love Kodona but was scard off by Alice and the Pirates prices as well as all replica/even freaking off brand peices. Now I'm going to try my hand at making something I think, this looked easy...hopefully =S

To be quite honest, I would rather wear a dress rather than "Dandy" type clothing, and I'm a guy. Apparently, there're health benefits to guys wearing skirts and kilts. You know, it's interesting, unwilling cross-dressing is more favourable (on a lighter level) than willing cross-dressing would ever be. (especially in North America. Wouldn't you agree?

It's sad how misinformed the Western communites of Japanese street fashions are.
Kodona comes from the words " otona" and "kodomo" the words together means "adult child" not adolescent. So it's basically like calling someone a Shota not prince. No one even uses that term in Japan because portmanteaus don't work that way in the Japanese language.
