To be fair, Universal's value hotels are consistently cheaper (by $40+) than many outside hotels even before the additional Orlando Informer patron discount. Plus, many of Universal's midrange offerings are the same price as outside hotels, andUSO guests get the benefit of park transportation and early park admission should they choose to pay for a day pass or stay an additional day outside of the event. It may be good to tell people to do a lot of comparative shopping and think about their trip goals before they buy. But with that said, I appreciate a specific name for an alternate hotel suggestion (with walking path!) for those who already know they don't want to stay at Universal because, you're right, there are other Florida offerings, like Disney World and all the attractions on International Blvd., that would make an offsite hotel worth considering.
I totally agree with almost everything. The only thing Is I wouldn’t get the oi ticket at 3 cause you really can’t do much until 5 then til 8. Aka wasted time, extra money you have to spend on drinks or food. Just go get your tix @ 8. Day time guess are out and good starts at 9. Plus you’re fresh and your feet won’t hurt from walking around doing nothing for 5 hours before 9pm.

I’m doing both the meetups in February. I was wondering, since Mardi Gras begins on February 4th if that food will also be included during the meetup. I can’t wait, this will be my first meetup also. This is a surprise trip for my Son’s birthday. He is going to be so surprised.

I think I would agree with everything except the offsite hotel. In my personal opinion I definitely think it's better to spend the extra $30 a night to stay on site, the OI gets you reduced prices and you get extra little perks by staying onsite. The transportation is such a benefit of staying onsite and if you have park tickets for daytime you get early entrance to the parks. I would definitely recommend booking a Universal hotel, we used to stay offsite and one day we decided to stay onsite and never again will we go back to offsite.
I would definitely say if you have day tickets it would be worth it! I’ve never actually gone to the parks during the day and then the meetup the same night! We are staying on site next month though, so I’m excited to see the perks!
@@parkdaze I think it's more beneficial to those who are coming out of town and only have a few days there. I know us if we're going to be doing the meetup it's only for a weekend so we would probably go during the day as well possibly to Volcano Bay for a few hours, we like Cabana Bay and well Volcano Bay is literally right in the back. Hope you enjoy staying onsite I think you'll enjoy how easy transportation is especially after a long night like HHN.
That makes so much sense! I’m excited to try it out and so curious about the on site transportation.. I feel like it’s talked about a lot for Disney, but never Universal!

@@parkdaze we haven't either. We did one in November last year but I'm not sure that counts as winter down there. Lol it sure does here though

Can you use a fast pass during the Meetup?
No but you don’t need to! The waits are so low. The longest wait it Hagrid’s which can be up to 45 minutes.. everything else is pretty quick!
Is it true they shut down the rides at midnight?
because of local noise ordinances the last ride on velocicoaster, hagrid’s, etc has to be midnight.. so yes! we usually hang out in a very empty diagon alley or eat after the last rides!
Just the big roller coasters because of noise

Oh no! I’ve always gotten pretty quick responses from them (less than 5 minutes).. I know in June they were bombarded with texts about the speakeasy. Maybe that was it?

hahaha I’ve never texted them not during a meetup, so that makes sense!
