I have been in the top 3 consistently for CSAT in my institute. Generally, after solving 30-35 questions I would know yes I'm done, now it's extra marks. But in the exam even after doing 45 questions I wasn't sure. I had to do around 55 questions to be satisfied. Then also I attempted 60 questions just to be sure. CSAT was not at all easy. Assumption and logical inference was asked for RC, UPSC can manipulate the answer in those. Average, Direction, Number system were all difficult. There were tricky questions which you wouldn't pick in the first reading in both quant and reasoning.

If you are looking to continue for UPSC preparation, do not get demotivated. You are not too far from the mark. Till the prelims results, please start preparing for mains. If it is positive, go on. If it is negative, continue with the mains exclude preparation for next 5-6 months.

Krishna sir, my score in GS is 101 and in CSAT it's 78, 72, 68.5 from 3 answer keys. Its a lot of variation, cuz I did all RCs which were ambiguous this time. I don't know what should I do, and these coaching institutes are launching there courses too early, I am not sure to take them this early. Please, guide your little brother. (Its my 2nd attempt, last year scored 84 in GS but 65 in CSAT so that CSAT fear is still there on me)

इस बार upsc ने फ़साने के लिए question सेट किया था। बोला जाता है, question tough नहीं होता है, option उसे टफ बना देता है। इस बार का अधिकतर question देखोगे तो लगेगा अरे ये तो मैंने पढ़ा है ये तो बहुत easy है, फिर आप ऑप्शन पे जाओगे, फिर tough लगने लगेगा, उसके बाद आप दो ऑप्शन को eliminate कर दोगे, फिर बच जाएंगे दो ऑप्शन , फिर उसमें से किसी पे आप टिक कर दोगे, फिर सोचोगे की probabilty के अनुसार अच्छे मार्क्स आ जाएंगे। फिर जब घर आकर answer key मिलाओगे फिर लगेगा - " साला ये तो भारी mistake हो गया, एकदम बवंडर हो गया" मानो ना मानो सबके साथ यही हाल है , इसलिए just chill.. जहां तक कोचिंग institute का सवाल है, वो इसे इसलिए easy बता रहे हैं क्योंकि इस बार ज्यादातर question factual थे , इसलिए google एक बार मे सही answer बता दे रहा था।। google facts नही भूलता है, हम इंसान तो भूल ही जाते हैं, even कोचिंग वाले टीचर को भी बिठा दिया जाता तो ये भी गलत कर के आते, भले ये AC रूम में इंटरनेट पे सारा आंसर देखकर कितना भी डिंग मार ले, वो भी तब, जब ये केवल अपने subjects का ही question सॉल्व करते हैं।। खैर कोई नहीं इनका भी दुकान चलना चाहिए, इनका भी तो परिवार है, इन लोगों को भी कमाने दो, वरना इनके बीवी बच्चे ऐसो आराम की ज़िंदगी कैसे बिता पाएंगे ।।

What about GS bro! Cut-off will be decided by mainly GS and strongly influenced by CSAT! CSAT mai 150 plus is not a big deal jo kewal maje ke liye gaya hai kyun ki in general jo GS mai exhaust ho jata hai wo CSAT mai time pass nhi kar pata extra marks lake! So if you are scoring in GS also then it's good otherwise it's just a waste of time and energy!
