I got a Toyota iQ 998cc after a string of classic Morris Minors. I swear the thing hasn't let me down in four years. It gets rallied, U-turned and side parked regularly! No other car comes close to its nimbleness in the streets. They're all too big despite being similarly low powered, always some kind of space wasted in the design. This car is for the true appreciators of quality packaging.
I had this car but the engine is so tiny so the CVT drone is very loud. Never had any issues with it. I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid because it has a bigger engine. (Much more quiet.)
Other than oil changes, new oil filters/ ac filters, brake pads and tires that had to be replaced I never had a single issue with this car. It’s insanely reliable. I bought it in 2009 and I bought my Honda in 2021. The Toyota is very good as a second car in and around the city. Doing your groceries (they all fit in the back when you put the rear seats down) and running other errands. But I got a new job that I had to drive longer distances and then a bigger car is a lot more comfortable.
Not a bad choice for a first car especially if you live in an urban area.. crazy to think that Toyota made something so barebones and at the same time made it’s polar opposite, an opulent no holds bar luxury car, the LS460 and LX570
It’s a great car , low maintenance cost won’t break for at least a million miles if you maintain it well !! And btw thanks for sharing your opinion I really appreciate it !!
