As a Finn i was walking outside while it was windy and snow was raining, all that snow hitting my face was so amazing and refreshing so i became happier. So winter is not so bad overall.
A proper winter with white dry snow and circa -5 to -10 Celsius temperatures are an ideal this time of the year. When you have suitable winter clothes to wear, the cold weather is not a problem. A transition period from autumn to winter is more frustrating with wet snow and a snowless dark ground. A permanent dry white snow is not icy and slippery, and you don't have to worry to fall on the road. A hot summer weather is more consuming because you will be sweating all the time even if you just walk to the nearest supermarket.
Florida to Finland, now that is going to mix things up a bit! Has it ever snowed in Florida? Surely not!! Love the cafe in the snow and the fact you found the oldest souvenir shop in the city - something for everyone in there! Cool to see the waterfront all frozen up, looking forward to seeing what you get up to next!
Good stuff. But I always recommend that tourists visiting Finland take a trip outside Helsinki. The capital city is the most jam-packed but also the most expensive place in the country.
Helsinki is the one Baltic capital I don’t know as well. It does look stunning. What a cute cafe! Feeling your pain with the cream on the nose! The Sibelius monument looks incredible we’d love to hear how it sounds with the wind through those pipes too. That salmon soup looked incredible. Great video guys. Cheers 🍻
Cream on the noise is just the cost of doing business when you get a hot chocolate! That monument was so impressive. Especially in the snow. Salmon soup was okay, but the salmon at Santa's village was excellent. 🍻
What has the cold or warm to do with happiness? If hot weather and load of sunshine guaranteed happiness, Sub-Saharan countries would top the list. We are used to our climate. For me, personally, winter in Lapland is my favourite season. 😊
I can testimony you can feel happy in winter, too 😉 And Finland has 4 seasons. Winter arrived already this year in Helsinki, most locals welcome the snow, it brings light to the dark season. In some winters there's hardly any snow in helsinki, it's just wet and cloudy, that's the worst. If you feel the winter is too much, you can book a little vacation in Spain, cheaper than a holiday in Lapland 😁 Yeah the Moomins are big in Finland + northern Europe, also in Japan. There's even a Moomin theme park in the city of Hanno, close to Tokyo.
Or, could it be both miserably cold AND world's happiest? 😊 We really do not like the cold, but "world's happiest" is one of a few reasons we'd be "happy" to tough it out.
We couldn't find anyone born to Finland to talk to, but this lady from Mexico was nice enough to share her story. It's a big difference with the weather., but she can cuddle up close with her husband now!
The World Happiness Report (UN study) is based on statistics and personal interviews all over the world. I don't think climate makes any nation happy or sad. In winter in Spain, I enjoy the milder climate but miss the Finnish district heating system, in the cold, damp Spanish houses. Unfortunately can't get it all, Spanish sun and Finnish infrastructure 😁

Yea, as you can tell we were really happy to be outside in Finland as well!
This was a good clip to watch as it's 35 degrees here in Sydney today
Yessss we have been waiting for this Finland series! That cafe is so cute! Can't wait for more videos ❄
Yay! Thank you!
What a winter wonderland! We really look forward to visiting one day. And we're with you about Lapland!!! That's way up there on our list!
You will love it! Finland is so fun. Thanks friends. Merry Christmas!
@@WITYTRAVELS Merry Christmas to you, too!

Historically I'm sure it's snowed a few times in History, but not any time lately! They had all the souveniers. Thanks Matt!
I'm sitting here with Ian at 10 pm watching this on the big screen TV.... and craving that hot chocolate and cinnamon bun!! 😋
You gotta watch these videos when the stores are still open! Lol

Yea, you gotta try the salmon soup when in Helsinki! Lapland video comes out next week! Thanks friends!
Finland is not considered part of scandinavia. They are is nordic country. In economic and cultural there are similarities

We always find something to enjoy!

Yay! Glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment. Our first video from Lapland is now out.
Svin just did his social studies project and his country was Finland! Def going to show him this 😅🥶
That's awesome! We had a really good time in Finland. Hope all is amazing!

Thanks for the information! As you can tell, we really enjoyed being outside in Finland. Our first video from Lapland is now out.
Katy you look SO CUTE on the thumbnail!🥰
Thanks 😅
I've wanted to check out Finland. We are heading back to Norway next February.
More Finland videos to come! We want to go to Norway one day!
As a Finn, I would suggest to visit in Kainuu or Lapland. Helsinki doesn't really present Finland in a good light, especially in Winter.
Thanks for the tips! Our first video from Lapland is now out.

After hearing 350 euro 💶 I was like OMG, after listening again I realised that it is 3.5 💶. 😅
Oh yes, 350 Euros would be a lot! 😜 Thanks for the comment!
I'm surprised you met a Mexican in Finland! That is a pretty extreme weather difference between those two countries!😮
We couldn't find anyone born to Finland to talk to, but this lady from Mexico was nice enough to share her story. It's a big difference with the weather., but she can cuddle up close with her husband now!
@@WITYTRAVELS she had a great story! What a sweetheart. I hope Katy got to speak to her in Spanish a little bit 👍
So called "happines" has a lot: Democracy, free speech, universal healthcare, free education, etc.
Very true! Thanks for the comment. Our first video from Lapland is now out.
Its hard to believe these so-called lists. Its like them telling us. North Dakota people are " the happiest"
