Many thanks for viewing and commenting. Yes, it is refreshing to see undestroyed history. Future generations will enjoy if we take care of our heritage. Dave.
Many thanks for the comment. I had no idea I couldn't just drive right in. I guess that is why it hasn't been vandalized or stripped of historical artifacts. I am pleased that they open the mill for tours a few times/year. Thanks again! Dave.
This is a really interesting video, Dave. "Modern" mining with techniques still being used today. Looks they had steam power and advanced into internal combustion engines for the same. Tena is off stuffing herself with turkey and all the other traditional dishes. I am going to my daughter's for seafood, a tradition I started in the family back in the 70's. Lol. I guess that will be my legacy. Thanksgiving seafood feast instead of the other options on this holiday. Have a great Thanksgiving.
This mill was unknown to me until a friend from Austria was here in September. He wanted to go on a day trip and discovered this site on the internet. We had to walk two miles in but definitely was worth the hike.
I sure love this video also. I intend to go out and explore and camp around these places like I used to do back with my Father. Now this one I think is somewhat south east of Missoula. Thank you so much for these.
Wesley, thanks for watching and commenting. You are right, this mill is SE of Missoula and just west of Helena. Thanks again for your comments! Dave in Missoula.
Hello from Arkansas! I guess that you already know how I'm going to rate this video. Absolutely stunning camera work. Of all of your videos that I have watched, none has ever disappointed me. Lots and lots of history there! The music fit the video. I give this video a 10 thumbs up! Got snow?
Hello Veronica from Arkansas! Yours is the first comment as usual and I am trying hard not to disappoint you! I really appreciate your comments. I researched "frothing flotation mills" after-the-fact. It is amazing the processes they used to extract minerals from ore. It is also wonderful that this site is preserved as well as it is. I had to pack all my gear two miles just to get to it. I guess this is why it is still standing and not vandalized. Yes, the first snow of the season started this morning in western Montana. It will be cold next week but I know we should have a few weeks of autumn before winter sets in. Do take care! Dave.
Excellent documentary video. Love the music transition when the crusher appeared. When I saw the crawler tractor in the distance of one scene, I thought it would be great for a close-up, and that's exactly what was next. Must have taken the whole day or more to shoot. Thanks for the effort and for sharing.
Rich, now THAT is too funny! It is amazing how close our thought processes are! It sure is fun to stumble across little gems like this. I hope we can find more to capture next year. Dave.
It very well could be, depending of the build quality of the cabin and current ownership. Thanks for watching and sharing some of your memories. Dave in Montana.
Fantastic video ! How refreshing to see somewhere abandoned that hasn’t had visits from the spray paint and destruction gangs.

Another great job on capturing this awesome place Dave, I may have to get over there next season, kind of a bummer you cannot ride in.
