I think they started 2017 And Pete's granddaughter is to thank for that😂 she allways set the car radio to hiphop stations so Pete started to listen and hookt up with Bas and results ,over 30 bangers so far😂😂

They started in 2017. pete introduced by listening to his granddaughters music on the car radio. he thought it was something they could do and went to Bas with the idea. Bas taught and played piano - and was a musician for years, playing professionally on cruise ships.
They are Cockneys and so grew up with Cockney rhyming slang ( that has been around for 200yrs - and was a way of speaking to confuse the police and punters they were wanting to con). Anyone who has been to a London market with Cockney stallholders will know how they play with words.
They both do crosswords, so they know about language.
They set out to learn how to do this and they have clearly worked hard - and neither are stupid! They get help with modern slang from their grandkids who do the beats and production. I am sure that it is a collab - but Pete and Bas are definitely not just frontmen.

I'm in my 60s and find it funny how rap is seen as something that is only a young man's game. When I was young, no one thought that bands like the Rolling Stones would still be performing in their late 70s and early 80s! Oh how we never think of being old ourselves!!!
I play guitar and piano and keys - and have been in local bands - and still gig and do open mics - there are plenty of folks in their 70s and 80s still rocking with the youngsters in the UK.
As long as you have your health - life still rocks!!
pete and bas are now about 74 and 77 respectively - and they have been gigging over the years - and just finished a UK and Europe tour - there are clips on line - and folks seem to have a good time.

I truly believe they write most of theyr stuff but get help with modern slang/lingo from theyre grandsons who allso produce their beats .HANDSOME DEXTER And 91 SHOTS allso known as Nine and Dex and have theyre own music out
