There was no such thing as full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022, as no such thing was authorized by the Russian Parliament. What was authorized was a Special Military Operation (SMO), which means that Russia backed the People's Republics of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson to liberate themselves from Ukraine, using their own volunteer armies, militias, policemen, firefighters, workers unions, auto-mechanic guilds, you name it as the whole society was mobilized. Russia set three goals in this SMO: the liberation of the said Republics from Kiev's bombings since 2008, the demilitarization of Ukraine that wanted nukes by joining NATO and the de-Nazification of the Ukrainian body politic. If Russia had fully invaded Ukraine, using its multi-million strong conscript reserves, all of Ukraine would have been overrun by now and war would be over. In fact, Russian conscripts are not permitted (by the Russian Constitution) to fight in Ukraine - or anywhere abroad the country - so only volunteering professionals were used to aide the four Republics liberate themselves from the Ukrainian yolk. Before the annexation of what is now former Ukrainian regions - that have their own money (Russian) as well as electricity and water supply that is no longer dependent on Ukraine proper - , only professional Russian soldiers drawn from all of the Federal States who signed six-month contracts on a paying base and voluntarily were sent to fight in Ukraine and not a single Russian conscript.
