You have to keep in mind those guys were designers before they became a whole group music and clip are of their own concept.
For me it's the best French group of those ten lately years and they are very good live.

When I first heard this I thought it was weird but different and liked the beat a bit... but then couldn't stop playing it for 3 days straight before discovering the rest of their brilliant music. My favourite band for 5 years now!!!!

The text, on an "electronic" ska tempo, is inspired by the Swiss philosopher *Alexandre Jollien* who advocates optimism and a "zen attitude" in his works (He lives in Korea where he's himself married and the father of 3 children).
Being handicapped (suffering from athetosis since birth following strangulation with the umbilical cord), he has written extensively on alienation and dependence.
"My Name is Stain" is an optimistic song, even if its lyrics may seem pessimistic at first glance. The end of the text invites us to change the course of events when they're tragic.
The voice of the singer *Samaha Sam* is quite particular (a bit the same style of voice as *Macy Gray,* although the "metallic twang" is much less pronounced than in the latter).
It's a bit what makes the trademark of *SHK PNK,* without forgetting, of course, *Goz,* the monkey in computer graphics which is a full band member and appears in all their concerts or clips.
They also collaborated with the British group *Skunk Anansie* on the title *"Spit You Out",* or even did a live duet for an evening with *Off Spring* on their title: *"The Offspring / Shaka Ponk "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) 2021"* during the Taratata tv show in France.
They offered several covers, including *"Kids in America"* by *Kim Wilde* or still *Cranberries, AC/DC, Nirvana, Depeche Mode,"* etc. They covered *"Gimme Shelter"* (1969) by the *Rolling Stones* with *Bertrand Cantat* the singer of *Noir Désir* on stage. I saw them live during a music festival near my hometown, they're amazing on stage. Loads of energy and creativity. By the way the singer is gay... you should watch "Let's bang" official music video. The song is about gay cruising in night clubs. ;)

Hi Derek. I'm so happy! You finally react to one of my favorite band. You have to know that Shaka Ponk is a huge rock band. I can suggest you to react on masterpieces like killing Hallelujah, palabra mi amor (feat Noir désir singer), morir contendo (cover from Dalida's song "mourir sur scène), wrong side... You should also have a look on their live performances. On concert, they have so much energy! The best is Rusty Funky from the live show "Alcaline".

Hey Derek. Stromae has released his new album album, i hope you react to it.
For me its a bit meh. They could have done soo much more with the instrumentals, very basic. Great visuals with the video though but i keep feeling that something is missing, its a little hollow in sound.
Probably one of he worst song from them...but a big success.
Shakaponk really are a Live band, using video and 3D on the best way (they do quite everything by themselves as they are first graphic artists).
This song is really not the one to see what they really are.
