@@MattWillisBagpiper thank you very much, I am new to piping, I just love your TH-cam content. Just wondering, I am on the Westcoast of Canada Vancouver Island to be specific and in need of some newbie lessons. what would be the cost how would it work with time difference?
Also, no matter how I've worn this uniform, someone "corrects" me. There isn't one spec. Each regiment has there own rules. So if it was untucked from the belt, I promise you, someone else would try to correct me on that. It's rather exhausting! So I'll do my best to simply wear everything respectfully and how I feel it looks best on me (as I'm only representing myself and not a regiment).
Great questions! And ones I cannot readily answer. It looks like real horsehair and leather... If either is synthetic, it's very high end synthetic material. I suspect they're real.
Great video. And what a great sporran. I had my horsehair sporran from Pakistan (sory to say....), so it is not as fine as yours.... but the cut line of the hair is not sharp. I would go to a hairdresser and have it fixet,- the low edge has to be pin sharp and straight. And this one is not.
That’s a sharp looking sporran. Looking good sir!
Thank you kindly
Great video Matt & Happy New Year🍀🍀🍀🍀🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊

Great looking sporran. What are you wearing on your right hip? It looks like a drone top?

@@MattWillisBagpiper that’s a great piece of kit! Unfortunately I live in NY….no go for that here.
Sash should go over the waist belt. It’s a symbol of rank!

Great Video. A few questions. Is this sporran made from real horsehair or synthetic? also is the back real leather of industrial vinyl?

They are called " Scallops"! They also contain hidden pockets under the top flap.
Those pockets are super useful, but too small for a phone...
@@MattWillisBagpiper I hear that! Though, when these Doublets/Tunics were designed....cell phones were not even an imagination yet!
Its called an Inverness skirt or flaps.
