The only drawback to full-page-sized reinforcement displays is they require TABLE SPACE to employ. For a two-mapper, this can be significant. Still, this really looks like a solid package. I saw a Maxwell interview on this a few months ago, and it seems like for a pure operational level game, it looks pretty meaty.
looks like a good game and i'm tempted but the only question for me is having the 1985 games by thin red line games and wating on the Third world war updated reprint is this game different enough to justify getting another cold war game ?
The advice of a complete stranger is yes buy it. I have 1985 by Thin Red Line Games and I really like it, but NATO can be set up played and enjoyed way quicker than 1985. Both serve their purpose for me, and my opinion is buy. BTW I too am waiting on the Third World War update.
As Dan mentions, the footprint here makes this title a very different package, playable in a long sitting. The TRL games are actual monsters with probably roughly equal complexity; Third World War will be a noticeably simpler monster.
@@dcal12 Many thanks for your thoughts and taking the time to answer i have a little time as the game has not reached England yet but i think the bank balance will take a hit
@@ardwulfslair Thanks for the answer as i said to Dan i have a little time yet over here but it looks like the bank balance is going to take a hit Would be interested in your thoughts when you have got it to the table maybe mention it on a counter clipping stream. Also hope your medical matters worked out ok
I've played both. They're pretty different games. TWW has more scope, with a much broader scenario that includes (potentially) the Balkans, Scandinavia and the Middle East, but is mostly simpler except in the air system.
Great unboxing, can't wait to get this to the table after 1985 Under and Iron Sky

That's a lot of heft in one box! Definitely on the heavier side, but nonetheless still interesting. Thanks for the unboxing.
Looks very nice! Thanks!
Got a bunch of games unplayed but this is going to jump the line and move up into the top five to be played soon or attempted at least...😃

Do you have thoughts of this game vs the Third World War that Compass has out?
