I agree, Matt. The 70-300 is a winner. I purchased this after selling my 50-140. Although reputed to be one of Fuji's best lenses, I am finding the versatility of the 7-300 (sometimes combined with a 1.4 teleconverter) is fantastic. Greater reach, lighter and smaller it meets my photographic needs perfectly.
So glad you have the 70 300 in your bag at last Matt ! It is a superb lens that you are going to get a lot of use for.I loved the 55 200 but this is a huge upgrade, 100 400 is too big and heavy for me and I don't really miss the extra 100mm for what I shoot. I am going to Tassy for 3 weeks next month and it will be in my bag with the 16 55 ( what a combo ! ) 10 24 and a fast prime , probably 16 f1.4. Have a great road trip mate, love your vlogs they are so helpful to my photography.
I bought the FX 70-300mm with a Fuji 1.4 multiplier quite awhile back with Many photos under its belt....awesome lens and will reach out and touch something, just luv it ;) I kept my FX 55-200, great lens as well...
Nice one and good timing Matt! Have literally just got hold of this lens myself after what seemed an AGE waiting for UK stock. I’ve yet to take it out into the world, but am really looking forward to the increased landscape potential with it. I sold my old 55-200 years back and kinda regret it, so this was a shoe-in purchase. I also got the 1.4TC to run alongside it, so am interested in finding how that combo works 👍
I have the 70-300 too and love it (technically I still have my 55-200 but that will get sold soon) and was going to pick up the 1.4x teleconverter but then... I remembered the 150-600 is coming soon. And that might be the best option of them all.
OIS might be my favorite thing on this lens but you have to turn it off for anything above 1/250 - 1/500 ss so it's a real ballache they took the ois switch off the lens.
100%. Analogue signals don’t clip… but digital ones do - and this is the drama, seems recorded far too loud and then tried to be pulled down in post after it had already clipped

Great video and great tip. I think that view would be close to the best on Yorke Peninsula. Great work as always.

Is it compatible with XT30??
I broke my 55-200,and hope to replace it with this lens as soon as there is some stock available, thanks for sharing awesome video.

I like your videos, but in this one, the audio was so distracting that I couldn’t even focus on your content. So sorry.
