YES, I ENJOY ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS! It was great seeing this series. Gilbert was committed to H0 before he bought Flyer. I think prewar H0 was AC powered as permanent magnets weren't yet strong enough, let alone rectifiers. Thank you, Austin. Great series.

Those pre and post war Gilbert ''HO'' scale trains need an up grade on those couplers and wheelsets, If i had that line of ''HO'' Gilbert passenger cars and freight cars i would replace the couplers with Kadee magnetic knuckle couplers and the wheelsets with Kadee metal wheels, A nice set of ''HO'' trains you have.

I have three 587 block signals, plus a 584 bell danger signal whose bell plate has broken off the base. A flimsy white metal casting, if you ask me.

Marx guy here, I always enjoy your videos. I`ve been thinking of getting on E-bay a prewar Flyer steamer that could pull either my Marx or Lionel tenders, will it hook up? Also, check out Chuck`s new ,old 1928 Flyer locomotive.

Excellent video. I've had to pause my S scale work because suddenly I have 4 Gilbert HO Hudsons, 3 of which are prewar. My 0-6-0 lost a traction tire recently. No idea how that happened......

I really like the Prewar stuff. But sorry to be a stinker. That is a Post War Plastic 718 Mail car. Lol. The 492 Mail car is one of my favorite cars next to the 490 Whistle car. Those side pickup springs have me stumped as to where to find a similar sizes to replace them with.
    Thanks Again for the video!!

I know this mail car is flyer and postwar...but I wanted to show the accessory in action...and it is what I have...

@@AustinsAmericanFlyertrains Just having some fun. I really liked that episode. The Prewar Flyer doesn’t get seen much anymore. Like you also said the Prewar has a problem just falling apart. I’ve been buying some and you see that and how they were mishandled. Tender bodies bulged out cattle guards bent or broke off. Your bringing these lost Treasures back to share with a new And not so new generation. Thanks Again. Keep ‘‘em coming.
