which is also why some haters have been pestering them even until today...saying "they don't deserve it" smh...in this competitive market, what does "deserving" even mean? If you cater to the market, and lots of people connect with you, you're bound to be big. Yeah I know marketing also plays a role but SM and JYP and other big labels all over the globe know that to the tea so it goes without saying even if YG knew what they were doing, NO ONE expected BP to be this big, same with BTS. With tens of Kpop groups debuting every single year, the market has definitely become oversaturated. Sure, you can argue there are other artists that " "deserve it more" " but like with everything it's not just the talent, it's also the appeal, the marketing, and *luck* .
But as a Blink, I've been following them since their debut despite their lack of content because I genuinely vibe with their sound, and I love their personalities.
People are quick to dismiss BP because they're "just models now that release music sometimes" but how is that bad thing? Isn't the ultimate endgoal to be as influential, if not more, even outside music? They're just diversifying their influence outside music, it's like that with every huge celebrity. Look at Rihanna, Selena Gomez, and Beyonce.
I know it sucks for most of the people that stan them just for their music but as someone who also loves them as people, as long as they're happy with what they're doing (and judging from their recent trips, they're having the time of their lives), I'm happy.

I think Lisa appeals to a very diverse group of people, including those who have no interest in kpop. I know a lot of people who became a fan because of her dance videos or her being a mentor, and then she got them into Blackpink and kpop as a whole. She really went through a lot. I think she's handling fame as well as she can... but fame on a global scale like this is hard to fathom for anyone. I'm glad she's able to stay humble and not let fame get to her.
I'm always amazed at how well she seems to be handling it. If I ever got even 1% of the popularity and fame that Lisa has, I don't think I would handle it very well. Probably would completely lose touch with reality. Somehow, Lisa stays grounded, humble, hard-working and grateful for what she has and grateful to fans. And that's a lot of her charm...in addition to her insane level of talent in so many areas.

That scene where she got pushed actually happened at the airport. Some photographer was taking photos of Jennie and backed into Lisa, almost knocking her down. At that time, Lisa just shrugged it off.

She actually downplayed the hate Lisa gets here mainly because she felt that Lisa might see it herself one day and she didn't want her to see it at least in her documentary, so she kept it to a minimum. But honestly, I don't know how Lisa does it. I mean the haters are so loud and the worst part is, because of her popularity, a lot of Blinks too have turned against her or resent her. Thankfully she has her own solo fandom too - Lilies, and they're super dedicated and loyal.

They have always been hyped even before their debut! Check out their first dance performance !!
Compared to the pre-debut promotions and hype for YG's boy groups, I wouldn't really say that BP was hyped before debut. YG didn't even confirm the names of the members until just weeks before debut.
Occasionally, YG would release a short video of some trainees dancing (like BBHMM) or the "Who's That Girl? video that shows a trainee dancing (but doesn't give her details, even though people found out after debut that it was Lisa). But it was just like a hint that some of these trainees maybe would be part of the new girl group. I don't think YG had even made final decisions. In the "Who's That Girl" video, it shows Lisa's face but says "Name: Unknown; Nationality: Unknown" and it also refers to her as the "5th" (indicating that it had not even yet been decided how many members would be in the group).
By contrast, the boy groups had three weekly TV shows, that ran for almost a whole year, BEFORE they debuted, starting with WIN (for both Winner and iKon members) which was a weekly show for 4 months. By the end of just that show, ALL of the boy group trainees were very famous and popular. Then there was the show Mix & Match just for the pre-debut iKon members that also ran for 4 months. (Then there was also another show, but I can't remember the name now.) In these shows for the pre-debut boy groups, YG himself and all of YG's top stars participated. Literally nothing like that happened for BP before debut. They finally got the "Blackpink House" show, but that was only AFTER they had already debuted and topped the charts with their debut songs.
She has been through a lot... Damn, she has been yelled at in interviews, someone yelled and cursed her in a interview saying she was blocking Jennie (Jen was really mad btw). She has been sexually harassed, she was scammed by her manager whom she saw as a friend, has received death threats... If we counted all the times people have been disrespectful to Lisa and the amount of hate she gets, we would never be done.And no matter what happens, YG never does anything to protect her. She's so strong.

In response to your question about BP's debut. Because YG is one of the top 3 entertainment companies in Korea, there was a lot of interest in what the new girl group would be like (as is the case with any new group that debuts under one of the big labels). But they weren't really promoted much by YG before the debut. There were occasional announcements that YG was preparing to launch a new girl group, but no specifics and no spotlight was put on the members. In the weeks before the official debut, the only thing YG did was release some photos of the members and their names (with banners stating their specializations as follows: Jisoo (vocals), Jennie (vocals/rap); Rosé (vocals); and Lisa (rap/dance)). At the time of debut, the general public knew something about Jisoo (because she had appeared prominently in some music videos) and Jennie (because she had featured by name in some songs by other YG artists, like G-Dragon and Lee Hi). Very little was known about Lisa and Rosé. Lisa had appeared briefly and with her face hidden by a hat in a Taeyang video, but was not promoted or named. Rosé had featured in the audio of a G-Dragon song, but was also not promoted and was not named as the feature (IIRC, they just used a question mark (?) in the feature credit). So they remained basically anonymous until they actually debuted with the group.
In contrast to Blackpink's debut, which was promoted only by the release of some photos (as mentioned above), YG's new boy groups were promoted very extensively and hyped before they debuted. Pre-debut promotions for the boy groups included nearly a year's worth of weekly TV shows starring the boy trainees (including a show called WIN (for both the Winner and iKon members) and another show called Mix & Match (for the iKon members)). The difference between the huge pre-debut promotions and hype for the boy groups versus the almost complete lack of promotions for the BP girls was quite stark and obvious.
YG Entertainment seemed to have a deep-seated policy or belief that boy groups would always be more popular, more profitable and more important than girl groups and the company's investment in pre-debut and post-debut promotions in the past always reflected that. Probably no one was more surprised than YG when BP, within a couple years, became YG's most popular group and main earner.

Was born by the name Pranpiya Manobal(n) but later changed her name to Lalisa on the advise of a fortune teller that this name will bring her a great luck, but was does Lalisa mean? translation: the one who is praise. Sometimes, she is also called "Lili". She was born on March 27, 1997 in Buriram Province, and moved in Bangkok, Thailand when she aged three. She is an only child. She grow up comfortably in Thailand and as far as known, Lisa was educated at Praphamontree II International School and the tuition fees there amounted to about 20K USD per year. She was part of a dance crew before along with Bambam of GOT7 who was her bestfriend for more than 15 years. Fame runs in her family because Lisa is an only child of award-winning, honorary president of Thai Chefs Assocation and honorary member of Culinary Union of United Arab Emirates, her dad is Marco Bruschweiler a famous renowned Swiss Master Chef in Thailand and Switzerland. Her family owns a hospital and they own a culinary school. But growing up rich doesn't mean you are rich yourself, Our girl took part in an audition organised by YG Entertainment in Thailand in 2010, where she outshone the competition. Winning the first place, Lisa was the only candidate and the first non-korean artist to be accepted as a trainee at YGE beating more than 4K auditionees. Started her training for more than five years after moving back to Seoul, South Korea from Thailand. TAKE NOTE: The American record labels and Korean record labels are completely different. In America, a label will scout you and pick you up as an artist. In Korea, you audition at a company in hope of being a trainee. If you pass and become a trainee, you train for years in sing/rapping and dancing and other things to debut. The company will then decide whether or not they’ll debut you in a group or as a solo artist. You debut with people you’ve been training with. Blackpink started training together since they were 14-15 years old, trained for 4-10 years, trained from 12 pm - 12 am a day. They debuted in August 2016. Blackpink when signing contract in their company it states that they are fobidden in 6 things: drinking, smoking, clubbing, driving, plastic surgery and dating.

WHY PEOPLE LOVES LISA MORE and MORE:
HER PROFESSIONALISM
She went to Milan for Prada's fashion show. Took a 12 hour flight back to SK, and from SK, took another 4 hour flight to Japan for their last Japan Dome concert that started just a few hours after she landed. But seeing her on stage during that concert you would never guess she just came from a 16 hour flight. Her energy was overflowing. She never ever gave less. And that is not the only time that she had back to back flights between countries to attend a show or interview or conference. During her trip to Paris, she had a 12hrs flight, cameras shoved to her face, barely got space to breathe yet she was smiling, taking fans gifts, signing albums and interacting with everyone and taking pictures with them. Not even a slight look of being annoyed but just a pure soul being thankful and humble as ever.
HER PASSION AND DETERMINATION
We may not see it all but even the dance practices of the group and her solo performances she gives 100% effort. Other members said they would train from 12pm-12am, but lisa would stay up until 3-4am to train. BLACKPINK donated 40 million won or 34,000 USD to the victims of fire in South Korea. In December 2018 they were awarded prize money of 20 milliom won or 17,000 USD by Elle Styles Awards, but being angels they are they donated the amount to low-income household and another 20 million to low income single-parent household in South Korea. Lisa donated 200,000 baht or 8,000 USD to the victims of flood in Thailand she donated it quitely without any intention of media attention. She was scammed by her former manager for about 1billion won or 820,000 USD, she keep it and settle it privately. She created a TH-cam channel as a way to give back to her fans. She also helped and supported Education in her hometown. She contributed to the education of Thai students and worked out support from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange to set up a learning centre. Earlier this year 2022, Blackpink along with other YG Artists and Actors donated 500M KRW or 400K USD to help with the recovery of wildfire damage in South Korea. Lisa also supported a charitable restaurant organisation whose meal profit 100% go to charities. Our Lisa does things for a good cause.
