Te Puna o te Aroha wharekai in Paeroa finally opened after a decade-long delay caused by COVID-19 and recent cyclones. Ngahutoitoi Marae chairman Paora Raharaha celebrated the resilience of his people, saying the wait was worth it. Hauraki Waikato MP Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke was invited to be the special guest and first to dine at the new wharekai.
