Scaling finance for adaptation

Adaptation is underfunded.
Across the globe, vulnerable communities that have done the least to cause climate change are being denied the resources they need to adapt to a climate-changed world. From large infrastructure projects like building flood barriers, to small interventions like air conditioning in hospitals, adaptation finance is not flowing at scale to where it should be. Even at COP29, adaptation negotiations are stalling on the finance question and so far, contributions to the Adaptation Fund here in Baku have been far below what is needed - and lower than both COP28 and COP27.
