Here the odd rows are sc. In the written pattern, the even rows are sc. Or am I missing something? I'm picking the pattern as shown here, adding a sc at row 5 (adjusting the written pattern), and seeing what happens.

No...it’s an Aran weight yarn but I guess you could use a Dk weight yarn if you make the cardigan in a size or two bigger than what you usually wear

On row 5 of the written pattern is dc in next 2 stitches Dp....and row 6 is sc....that is different then your video. Which is correct?
