Adam actually visited the smaller of the Jungle Jims markets. The larger location is in Fairfield, Ohio and it's about the size of two/three Walmart Supercenters.
Definitely went to the wrong Jungle Jims. The original store is up the road from the Cincinnati Mills mall you were at, only a few miles away. To bad no meet ups with your LOCAL fans here, we could have saved you a lot of time!
+adamthewoo if you returned to florida then went to universal orlando to see the bttf 3 train and the delorean, that delorean was the same car that did the wheelie in front of the train in bttf 3
White Castle's..... The holes in the burger. The joke is that the holes are where they used the shotgun on the rat. Seriously, since they are steamed on a bed of cooked onions they can cook them in about 40% faster than if it was a solid piece of meat, since it cooks from the area exposed to the steam inward and the holes reduce the max distance, so they cook much faster and also means they don't have to flip them but they are still cooked through and they are square to use every inch of space on the grill. It allows one person cooking burgers to do nothing but cook burgers the entire time with a 90 second break in between cycles (after they put the buns atop the burgers) They actually cook an entire set of burgers from start to finish (including boxing/bagging) in just under 5 minutes. They also don't add starch filler to the burgers unlike a place that has a crown in the lobby. Pretty much the only difference between the microwave ones and the ones bought in the store is the microwave ones don't have pickles. If you take a damp paper towel and drape it over top of the burgers on a plate you'll have the same consistency as from the store.
As a Northern Kentuckian I would have recommended that he visit the Jungle Jim's in Fairfield. That one is the original one and much more expansive than the satellite location in Eastgate.
Honey is the best. Manuka honey I heard is the most effective. And if you are stationary... Most local honey you can get helps many things like allergies improve (it's antibacterial and heals) . Hope you feel better soon Adam. -Faye
As usual your video was great! If I may make a suggestion concerning your voice, try gargling with a warm water and table salt (NOT too much salt! Just a tea spoon in a drinking glass of warm water). Give it a try about three to four times a day for about three days and I think you will feel much better. It's an old "down home" remedy that I grew up with in what was then a very rural area of South Carolina and it worked nicely. I'm almost 62 and It still works when the need arises. White Castle steams their burgers on a bed of onions, the holes are in the meat to allow the stream to pass through, this way you don't get a wet soggy burger.

Hello! The tamarind, or tamarindo in Spanish, is used to make either candy or water. You boil the tamarind and once it's cooked you put it in a blender with sugar and water, mix well, and there you go! Agua de tamarindo (tamarind water) you can add ice and it is very refreshing.
From an info site about these "vaults" Beginning in the 1850s, sidewalk vault lights became a common feature amidst the burgeoning manufacturing districts of America's urban streetscapes. These cast-iron panels, fitted with clear glass lenses, were set into the sidewalk in front of building storefronts. They permitted daylight to reach otherwise dark basements (or "vaults") that extended out beneath the sidewalks, creating more useable or rentable space for building owners. Each panel was screwed to a castiron saddle and the iron framework that spanned the basement vault. They were cast with molded iron knobs around each lens to protect theglass and improve the footing of passers-by.
I was excited to see the glass "jewel" encrusted grate!!! When it was installed (before 1914) the glass was clear and let light into the basement below. Prior to 1914 Potassium per manganese was used as the CLARIFIER which when exposed to UV light begins to turn purple. Different clarifiers make their own color. With the onset of WW1 all of the Potassium per manganese was needed for the war effort. How deep the colors get depends on the amount of clarifiers and exposure to UV light. Lots of people collect purple glass and I'm one of them!!! I know you like to know what you're talking about pertaining to architecture and construction materials. Love your videos so keep 'em coming!!!
2 comments... the guy's face pasted into the Willy Wonka picture is 'Jungle Jim' himself, and the holes in the White Castles are to help in the cooking process, not to save meat. BTW - Krystal's is just a cheap ripoff of the original... Whitecastle. (Who puts mustard on their sliders anyways?) :-) One more quick comment... Has the Daily Woo moved out here to the midwest? I occasionally found his videos about movie locations, secret places, etc... now I see him traveling around my hometown. What gives?
Im originally from long island & i thought the same thing about the mustard on the Krystal burgers here in Tennessee. Ive gotten used to it though, it gives the burgers a kick like a pickle taste...

you should check out jungle Jim's in Springdale, it's much larger with an aquarium in the back of the parking lot that the monorail takes you to... side note the monorail was from kings islands defunct safari park and the purple people eater boat is a spin on the purple bridge you showed in your other video that you used to walk in... the local name is the purple people eater bridge
The holes in the meat are for even cooking, I grew up next to a white castles and they are a required taste. You love them or you hate them.. and that grocery store is crazy, I have to go check that out. Great video guys. Love it
I remember going in a Jungle Jims bar in Orlando, down in Crossroads... I do remember it had kind of a "funny" themeing. Wonder if had anything to do with that.
I'm new to the channel, so this is my first time seeing this. LOVED IT!! It reminded me of the off-brand road trips my mom and grandmother used to take us on. We had a lot of fun in those simpler times. I'm glad places like this are still around. Thanks for making this video.💟
My mom told me about when she was a kid and they would go out for White Castle in Chicago. On a side note, I think a road trip is in order. That supermarket looks super amazing! "Have fun storming the castle!" 😝
They stack a pile of onions on the grill, then put 30 patties. The steam travels through the onions and cooks the burgers, while the holes in the burgers let the steam get inside and through the patties

It’s a great local store! And a Destiination for people to go to when in the area. And you brought Tim & Jen with you! The holes make them cook faster! They’re supposed to be soggy they’re steam cooked with onions!

And if you really want to enjoy a slider the right way the secret way of cooking them is to ask the server to steam your burgers and then they'll put them in a separate steamer afterwords and it's so much better.
Well, this one hits home. I've been catching up on my missed woo's cuz I've only recently been converted to a Woovian and decided to catch up on some older vlogs and now after watching SO many Daily vlog's from Adam I finally came across a vlog that crosses my stomping grounds as a kid. 11:15 in video, when you're going down dead man's hill in Kentucky looking down on the Cinci sky light getting ready to cross the Ohio river, coming from the Kentucky Airport in Florence,Ky. I've rode and driven that stretch of highway my ENTIRE life. Cool Stuff. I-75 north bound. Mason-Dixon line, Turntable holiday Inn and you missed it but to you're left crossing the bridge is a alien spaceship house with cool backstory would have been good vlog feed.maybe next time.
The purple glass-bejeweled sidewalk fixtures are probably skylights for the store basements underneath. The glass is purple from lead that was added to the glass, and if I recall correctly, that's what I was told they were as a kid.
Hey most of us wouldn't mind a video montage of your bloopers just so you could rest your voice a bit. I know you must have some. We wouldn't want to see you doing a Charlie Chaplain tomorrow lol. Love them Krystal's too! Just too bad it's about 900 miles from me😩 and Krispy Kremes and Steak 'n Shake and Pickles none of which I have here. Ya think I'm hungry!? Lol
While the store in Fairfield, Ohio is the original and much larger, this location in Eastgate is always great when you can’t find something you need at a regular grocery. Love Jungle Jim’s!
You think this store is big and has amazing sites, the Jungle Jim's store in Fairfield Ohio, a northern suburb of the Cincinnati area is twice as big as the one you showed which is the original one. Hope you had your windows open after eating at White Castle's, which tends to stir up one's intestinal system.
Those "jewels" in the street grating are actually glass designed to let light through to passages under the sidewalk. The glass originally was clear, but due to reactions from UV exposure turned purple over an extended period of time.
Your comment on the movie Rainman is incorrect. A large portion was filmed in Oklahoma, specifically Guthrie, Oklahoma which we are very proud of. The scenes of Dustin Hoffman going to the doctor and crossing the street in traffic are in Guthrie. Guthrie is number 7 in the nation of perfectly preserved towns of the old west and a Mecca for movie makers.
There is a restaurant, The Hearthstone, in Metamora Indiana (about 45 min - an hour) from jungle jims. Part of Rain Man was also filmed there, when they stayed in the small cabin. The restaurant has cabins behind it. There's also a great newspaper article about the movie inside the front door. It's only open on weekends though
The holes are there to steam the bun. They cook the burgers on a bed of onions and when they flip it over they put the bun on it allowing the onion steam to get to the bun...
Thanks for another tour. I used to do stuff before covid, now I go to work, cook, eat, and watch random videos. I gained 10 lbs because no gym, no hot yoga, no gardening......I just ate a pkg of halloumi.
Always awesome seeing you with The Tim Tracker and Jenn. Excellent daily WOO !! Hope you all had an amazing time. Love the vlogs from both the channels. Have a great day
I believe the monorail at Jungle Jim's, was purchased from King's Dominion in Doswell, VA. It was used to transport people through the Lion Country Safari exhibit at the park.
Lol the holes in the white castle burger are for the steaming process. You also have to them made right. There's a very specific onion water salt and pepper ratio, and if it's not done right they aren't very good. Can you tell I worked there lol? Personally my burgers were the best!!
Hello, Mr Woo! We look forward to you regaining your voice. By the way, the train station scene from Rainman was filmed in Santa Ana, not far from your California stomping grounds. Happy journey!
Wow, to my shock, there is a video of Jungle Jim's. 6 years ago, I used to shop there all the time when I lived in Fairfield, Ohio. If Jungle Jim's doesn't have it, it can't be found. Crabapple jelly mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Jasmin rice mmmmmmmmmm. When I get down in that area, I load up on baguettes from their bakery. Great with home made soups!
Adam actually visited the smaller of the Jungle Jims markets. The larger location is in Fairfield, Ohio and it's about the size of two/three Walmart Supercenters.
I was wondering about that. I haven't been to the original for maybe 6 years and it looked different in his video.

ps... one clue... it surprised me he didn't mention the HUGE areas catering to each country they sell items of.

Yes. it also lets them cook completely without flipping.

Mason-Dixon line, Turntable holiday Inn and you missed it but to you're left crossing the bridge is a alien spaceship house with cool backstory would have been good vlog feed.maybe next time.
moon pies are great.
I love em
***** who doesn't?
Even better zapped in the microwave for a few seconds
ever been to the RC cola and Moon Pie festival in Bell Buckle, TN you ought a come down for it next year
Cow pies, not so much.
Lol
Oh and don't try to crush those soda bottles!
awesome I want to go!
The real Jungle Jim kind of looks like Bernie Sanders or Larry David dressed like Merlin from Disney's Sword in the Stone.
Bless you man for doing this video despite how sick you sounded.
I appreciate how you take us all with you to the great places you find. In case you may have forgot...you are way KOOL!!! 😊😊😊
YES!! love that princess bride line!!!
These older videos are just as cool/neat/interesting as the newer ones.
Love that place. Thanks for showing it to us.
Thrilled that you are friends with Tim and Jen. I was hoping you would make it to Ohio.
Personally my burgers were the best!!
i love the creative thinking for this store. kudos to that team. i'd love to visit this place
Adam oooooo... They are called sliders at white castle! I love them. Not had them in a very long time.
We need a store here in Michigan like this !! Good video Adam !!
The car at 1:16 looks like the old Lion Country Safari kiddie ride in the 70s (in CA near San Diego).
I remember that ride! Man, those were good times.
That's awesome thanks for the tour from Australia
I am sooooo envious that you visited a Jungle Jim's Market!!
Wow, wish we had a shop like this in the United Kingdom, fantastic. 👍😀😀🇬🇧🏴
Love this place. I stop here every time I'm in Cincinnati.
The holes In White Castle burgers are NOT to cut cost on meat. they're to allow the patty to properly steam, which is how they are cooked.
I lived in Ohio for 5 years. I shopped Jungle Jims all the time. I loved it!
