Such a thoughtful recap! I definitely have to agree on the heartbreak for Alex Walsh. As a "watcher" it is so difficult seeing an athlete focus on one race, absolutely kill it, but just have one costly mistake. I'm so glad that it looks like she has the support system to reflect, feel, and grow from the experience.

I love you both! Thanks so much for helping me debrief my own Olympic experience, which I hadn't done thoroughly enough.

It was a great recap.I thought Daniel Wiffen & Sarah Sjostrom were amazing. As an Aussie, I thought Leon & Summer were the stars of the meet.

You guys forgot to talk about who do you think will win more individual gold medals in Los Angeles 2028: Léon Marchand (at 26 yrs old) or Summer McIntosh (at 21 yrs old)?

What about Kate Douglas? She is so diverse. A real superstar. I wonder why she didn’t swim the 100m breaststroke in the women’s 400 medley relay.

She might be one of the standout of LA28.

I think you don't know what you are talking about on triathlon. Absolutly NOBODY puked just after the swim in saine. There was only one athlete puking and it wasn't related to the Seine.
They didn't posponed anything except the mens race. They told the athletes "there is 50/50 chance the race is tomorow so get ready". It's not ideal but it didn't really change the race results.
For the oppening ceremony i was not a fan of some parts. But the rain really made it worse because they couldn't do everything they planned and killed the sunset lighting they would have liked.

What’s your take on the purple face thing? All the talk about it has really ruined my retrospective enjoyment of it. Hmm.

Images were altered from mostly Chinese social media sites. If you watched the broadcast, you’d know the US athletes didn’t look like that.

@@danielchung4973 I did watch the broadcast on discovery plus and BBC and it did strike me a bit but I’m pretty naive tbh and just assume rightly or wrongly that everyone especially my heroes (Katie ledecky) are clean but then everyone keeps going on and on about it. I assumed it was some kind of hypoxia but am no expert obvs. I loved every second of the swimming and just feel sick when this kind of thing comes up again and again.

It was very obviously a disinformation campaign from Chinese social media and the fact that you believed it is startling.

Missy - Regan can't be placed in the same conversation as Kaylee Mckeown (Aus). What kaylee has achieved is a feat no other woman has ever done. Regan is great but Kaylee is female GOAT of backstroke.

NOOOO!!!! The Seine becomes WORSE when it rains, because the increased water pushes sewage into the waterway. Gross Gross Gross. This was a very poor choice.

Bring the crowds and the enthusiasm,.... BUT DON'T BEAT OBNOXIOUS AMERICANS. The BEST crowds bring national pride, but also elevate and cheer for outstanding performances from any country. France cheered for EVERYONE. Welcome the world,...not just your own. It's not jealousy...it's decency and what a 'host' should do. (Nothing worse than watching events in Russia, for example. Learn from Japanese skating fans)

I disagree with your call on Alex Walsh. The whole Jordyn Chiles medal reclamation is exactly why anything needs to be announced as soon as possible. Again, as mentioned in my comment below, the US is so singularly focused, and tv coverage is so self-serving and not inclusive,...there are more stories than just the US athletes. Not that McKeown needs more cheers, there is a story THERE regarding her previous DQ that was equally as compelling. As friends of Alex,...fair beans....but I want a whole bunch more of Missy's Canadian class here.

Hi Tracy!! I’m so sorry that anything about my response came off as unclassy. This would have been a devastating thing to happen to anyone, and as I mentioned, I couldn’t be happier for McKeown and her success at these games.
