I also found it challenging going past places I wanted to stop and enjoy, particularly early on in my journey but I eventually decided that it was about the journey not the destination. Once I started doing what I wanted I really, and I mean really, began to enjoy the experience. Forget the distances focus on the experience.
Don’t forget to check the brake pads 😊

I agree, I think personally I understood this a bit too late. The road is the destination, not the destination. Haha yes the brakes were actually almost gone 😬😆

Amazing video. very jealous as this takes me back to when I worked in that part of the world, actually at 26:23, you go through the small village of Paleros and that is where I used to live and work.

Hey thank you! 🙏🙌 - Most be amazing to work there 😮 what did you do? I just checked Paleros on the map and yes I remember that I went through it (not the name though since I am terrible with any name 😆 but the location and how it looks)

@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial I worked at a hotel you would have cycled past called Vounaki, just outside of Paleros, teaching sailing. Also worked on Lefkas, so worked out there for nearly 5 years. Keep cycling!

Lovely video. And no. Greece is actually dominantly lush and green. The whole mainland is super green and actually even in summer. And this also accounts for a selection of the islands. Some islands have almost no greenery to begin with. But some are virgin forested like for example skopelos. Just to show the immense breadth of the spectrum. But for example. anyone that goes in may, has lush nature and greenery all around. Literally all around. I mean green green. Its unfortunate that nowadays we cant post any links to show what I mean.
Also. as much as mountainous as you saw, if you go more deeper inland than you truly have overwhelming amount of mountains. Mount Olympus, Pindus mountains, Tymfi Mountain, Tzoumerka mountain, Agrafa moutains, are just a few out of 300 mountains in Greece

Thank you! And I am happy that you enjoyed the video 😊
Really glad to hear that it is green even in summer. I can imagine some islands some a bit of a different climate than others, so they differ in the amount of greenery.
I think cycling inland is way more challenging than on the coast, but despite being difficult to cycle up mountains, it is also rewarding when you reach the top. Next year I have a project related to mountains and I will come again to Greece to climb mount Olympus. I am really excited to do this and cannot wait to see the views from the top.
Do you have any recommendations for climbing it or any other trails in the mountains nearby? I would really benefit from some advice from local people 😀

@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial there are many wonderful mountain trails in Greece and Mount Olympus is certainly one of them. For example the Epirus trail is the longest trail you can do. And then you have the E4 trail in Crete. And actually every mountain in Greece is wonderful to hike.
So all the mountain ranges like Tzoumerka, Tymfi, agrafa, Giona, Vardousia, Chelidona, Taygetus, Lefka Ori, Agion Oros, Parnassos, Pindus mountians, and so on and so on are all wonderful to experience! 100%

Heiy, amazing video! I'm about to to travel by bike from Patras to Albania in August, but afraid that it will be too warm and should instead hitchhike. What do you think? PS: what is the name of the song at 19:40 ?
