Edit: Up until the 30th April 2023 all revenue from this video was donated to Bill’s previous special needs school. Now they are better funded they don’t require the help they once relied upon
My son, Bill, goes to gorgeous, tiny, little special needs school for gorgeous special children. Bill and his friends there all need just a little more care, attention, love and guidance to help them access friendships and education. Bill has autism (and a variety of other issues such as Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD, Dyspraxia, Global Developmental Delay and Klinefelters Syndrom) and most of his school mates have similar challenges as well as Dyslexia across the board. Bill's school is woefully underfunded for a variety of reasons that would take pages of text to explain. The teachers aren't well paid yet they are constantly buying supplies the children need that most pupils don't require; such as pen grips and fiddle toys to aid concentration etc...I have been fundraising for a few years now and with your help have managed to help subsidise school trips, buy sensory room equipment, Occupational Therapy equipment, outdoor tables and chairs, a trampoline... We have a lot to pay for soon as we really need a reliable minibus but additional to that the school is trying to move premises and is taking on 20 extra pupils. This is all amazing news but means the pressure is on financially. All this fundraising helps a phenomenal school that has given so many children a future they would not have been able to access. Thank you so much for any kind of support you give us.

Loved your vlog-pod! The cowl is lovely and I may attempt it. I am a loose knitter (funny since I tend to be a tense person!). I keep my pretty progress keepers and stitch markers in a bowl on my desk -and use plastic ones in my work that I don’t mind if they get lost! And yes, I buy them, project bags, etc. and they are my “treats” in life😅 even tho some are too precious to use😂

You could attach the pins to the pull cords or outer tags on your project bags. That way they’re on the outside and won’t matter if you’re going in & out of the bag. They won’t catch on anything. Just a thought! ♥️♥️♥️
PS you did a great job! I thoroughly enjoyed the hang! 🤗♥️

I am rubbish with the pins too and don't like putting them on my bags - I just work too hard at making the bags, or saving to buy one, to puncture it with holes... so instead of making a pin pennant, I made a bell pull looking thing. It's only about three inches wide and hangs down about four feet - literally the width of a piece of fabric by three inches across. It is backed and has a lightweight betting in it to support the weight of heavier pins. I put a point on the end and attached a pretty handmade tassel. The other end has a ring that hangs on a hook by the shelving on which I store wips and other crafty goodies. The ring lets me take it down easily to add another acquisition and I can enjoy all my pins without messing up a bag or the project the bag might contain...

I like having my hair long but it’s a bit stringy as it’s very thin. It’s nice to be able to tie it up and some days it falls nicely. X

By the way thanks for the tip on second stitch pulling on cable sock cast on works well in comparison with other cast on failures 8 times now
Everyone says socks are fun oh I wish 😏

Sometimes, if I’m struggling with knitting in the round from the start I will cast on two extra stitches and knit in rib flat before joining in the round. I then decrease 2 stitches and continue in the round. I close the funny gap when I’m done by seeing it up. It will be fun! Promise. I’d love to help you get to that point. So ask me anything anytime, ask on Instagram message. X

      Than you
Gayna I might do that on second sock thought of 8 more cast on’s is enough to put me off
All you vlog/pod lasses make great socks 🧦 & I want to at least try & that will probably help having wide enough top for his swollen ankles
Enjoy your time off & a A HUGE BIG THANKS from me for keeping me company during these long months of COVID 🥰

Ganya, in regards to pins and progress keepers may I suggest using the plastic canvas mesh squares. They are usually 10"x12" and some crafters embroider shapes with yarn...
I even hang earrings on them. You can hang them from cord on wall with bull clips or put in a picture frame...

They make “locking” pin backs. I think they sell them on amazon. They don’t pop off in your bag! They are hard to remove... I too have lost many a pin. 🤣😫

That’s good to know, I just bought a new pin at a yarn festival and nearly lost it the first time I wore it.

Cuckoo, I have to go up an entire needle size when knitting in the round. Compared to a flat stockinette swatch. This is because I purl much tighter than my knit stitch. So if I swatch flat (hate swatching in the round) I know I have to go up a size. I have found this to be consistent with a small needle size as well as a bulky. 🤪
