Ways to Know When You’re Ready for Marriage 1. No strong feelings about being single or being married 2. You understand what marriage is for 3. You understand your strengths and limitations 4. You are malleable 5. You are able to have full control over your tongue 6. You can hear God’s voice
Can someone explain #1? I had no strong feelings for marriage for years or even for men. I am 21 years old, never really dated, I have never kissed anyone etc, bc I was not open to it. I would reject it bc I just didn’t care for dating or anything. Then, I hit 20, more of at 21 and I got a deep desire to care for and love a man. I also know that it’s not bad to have a desire so I am confused on why having a deep desire for marriage would be a bag thing. Not have a deep desire before literally made me turn down any and everyone. However, I am more open now and still cautious. How could having a deep desire be a bad thing? Hannah had a deep desire for a child and GOD blessed that. I think GOD is using my deep desire to literally make me open to it.
I am unsure how I found your channel but for months I’ve been praying for God to teach me how to be a wife. I feel you’re channel is the answer to my prayers 💞
Smooches Michelle, I can honestly say that I am ready for marriage. My first marriage ended a long time ago and I've been single for the last 24 years and I have been doing the inner work all along .....for a lifetime..... There were times when my singleness got on my nerves 😖😖😖 but now I see the value in it and I also see the value of marriage. Another thing that you know you're ready is when a dupe comes or counterfeit before the real deal and you know the difference. This just happened to me a few days ago. Therefore, I know that my husband is somewhere around the corner. Amen and amen😂💋
@@sixteen.candles.4644 I'm so glad you asked. It's really simple. I admitted my wrongs in the relationship, I gave myself, Grace and forgiveness and him. And surrendered all of my heart and hurts to the Lord. Listening to podcasts and videos and reading books about what type of woman I want to be for my next relationship and actually practicing on my family 😃😃😃💋💋
I needed to hear this. So timely. I desire marriage.. and I’m feeling kind of impatient lately in my singleness.. thank you for this you’re so lovely ❤
Video was amazing! I am very grateful! But also I guess it is sitting in bed and hearing God say “Vanessa” because that’s my name! And I receive ! 🙏🏾🙌🏾❤ thank you, bless you.
To surrender first to the voice of God/inner knowing is everything- when I was in my 20's I was proposed to by a lovely man, but in that moment a loud voice rushed through me and said to say no. This made no logical sense to me as we were very happy at the time, so I ignored the voice, got married and got depression because it just wasn't the path laid out for me to follow in this life. After 4 years I left the marriage. It took me 15 years to get over the guilt and trauma of it. Better rip that bandaid off as soon as you hear that niggle inside. The right thing is waiting for us at the right time ❤
I'm ready then, but no 2 is a bit difficult because I do not want kids. Of all the other things I'm ready. Thank you Dr. Daf. Love u so much, and I enjoy your videos❤❤❤🇿🇦
Mostly I'm afraid to just follow a man cause he won't protect me, it's not my well being he is looking out for. But I will follow a man to the moon and back once I know, yes he makes mistakes that's okay, but is looking out for me too.
This kind of content is extremely helpful for me. At a certain point I was obsessed with the idea having a person but after experiencing that it may be the wrong person or time, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of using my singleness to prepare myself because I could see in a lot of ways that I’m not ready and need to prepare if that’s what I really want. But it’s confusing because people can become vague when it comes to Biblical advice in dating and singleness. And what God really wants to see in a marriage. So I will be listening to the podcast for sure. Do you have any recommendations for number 2? Books or podcasts?
Its so good you are learning and growing in this. The Bible doesn't have too much material on marriage and dating which is why it can be tricky unless you receive revelation from the Lord. I like the book "Kingdom Marriage" by Dr. Tony Evans. I think it's a great place to start.
This is so good Dr. Daf! Everything you speak of here is so true. I just want to thank you for all of your videos as my heart posture shifted after I started watching your videos and preparing myself for marriage. I would also like to add 2 things. While each of these areas are certainly necessary we are not perfect and sometimes these areas can be worked on while you’re in marriage or in preparation as long as you are putting an effort towards it. I realized I was ready when I had this inner peace or calmness about myself. I wasn’t allowing others to shift my mood or really cause unnecessary stress. It could also be my relationship but there is a sense of clarity and peace. I truly can’t wait to be married to my man, I don’t need a wedding or anything. His love is that amazing.
I really enjoyed the other points you mentioned in the podcast!😮😮 They were very deep, especially the point that 'sacrifice is a spritual act' and that it moves things forward for goodness of the family in a marriage. We all need to know those points. The world promotes so much selfishness that we don't feel like sacrificing anymore❤❤❤
I love you and your videos. You feel like a big sister to me. God bless you Dr Michelle ❤ Yes please can you do a video about not feeling bad about being single ❤
I had a feeling to go to your channel today and the first video I see is this. I have a strong desire to be a wife and mother and I think God is telling me to REALLY think about it and see if I truly want this. I do, but watching these videos still make me think about it.
I am thankful God led you here. Continue to pray about it and be open to what God puts on your heart. He will direct your path. Thank you for sharing love.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, I listened to a few things you mentioned regarding knowing that you are ready for marriage and when you managed managing finances and being good with numbers that is something that I have been noticing about myself and I find that interesting how that tie's into everything. I think that investment products are extremely important and it is always good for at least both or one spouse to be working.
I feel like you can hit every check mark and still not be married bc it’s not your time. Also these lists still make it seem like marriage is a reward of some sort.
hi dr daf, as a 20 year old who's in her femininity journey for 4 years by the help of god and you i become much more feminine and i really appreciate your efforts i just want to thank you. but i have a question, i am a sensitive person and people around me always says i should just toughen up to not to get hurt. in friendships, especially female friendships i get hurt a lot, i have boundaries but i still get hurt a lot. do you have any advice for me? i don't want to be a masculine woman in my female friendships and i didn't really appreciate the 'toughen up' advice. or should i redefine my boundaries etc.
the skill of seeing the problem for what it really is when talking to a person @ 7:41… what do you call that? and how do we use it in the real world. I immediately resonated with it once you said it. but in the past i dont think i knew how to manage it because i didnt understand friends and family just want to be heard and dont want solution/ advice. Would that be beneficial in coaching?
I don’t complain about being single anymore, because I’ll just be marked as an “incel,” so I just shut the hell up and move on with my life and sailboat
Thanks for this! I guess the podcast goes into more details. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I don’t relate to the woman described in the video. I know this message will def be helpful to some. Sometimes we use examples of people that are sometimes so crass (lol) that we miss out on uplifting those with different (maybe I can say higher standards). So like I said, I may just need to view the full podcast but if it’s similar with the hypothetical examples, is it possible to do a video that (how does one put this without sounding like they’re up there haha) speaks to women who have much higher standards and values than the women described? I hope this makes sense. Thanks always for your lovely content.
