    According to the latest census in 2078, Nepal's population growth rate has decreased from 1.35% a decade ago to 0.93% currently. The number of girls in the under 5 years child populations is one lakh lesser than boys, whereas the total female population stands at over six and a half million than Male. This indicates a declining birth rate for daughters each year, particularly pronounced in Madhesh and Sudurpaschim provinces. This Samakon dialogue focuses on ‘The rising gender imbalance in the population and its potential impact’
    The Panelists include:
    - Jwala Kumari Sah, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development and House of Representatives from Bara District;
    - Dr. Yogendra Gurung, Prof. and Head of the Department of Population Studies at Tribhuvan University, and
    - Chetan Adhikari, journalist who writes in Population Affairs.
    Producer and Presenter of this program is Nirmala Sharma.
