One of the most fun origins videos you've made so far! An enjoyable watch and I laughed at the recreation of the conversations haha

I bought a Dana Design pack in 1994 or 95 and still use it for climbing and day hikes. I thought about sending a picture. It’s indestructible.

I bought a mystery ranch urban assault 24 for a trip to finland, it survived the Arctic cold while keeping my stuff (including battery packs) safe and sound, survived climbing a mountain in Scotland and has survived everything else I've thrown at it. If you're sitting on buying a mystery ranch pack, don't. Looking forward to testing out my terraframe 50 this week.

Have a bunch of MR 3 zips, best backpack concept ever. My first was an original 3 day assault.

... Mystery Ranch is into some great designs ..
I have been using a center zip pack since the early '80's ,, a Mountainsmith ,,best pack design to load and utilize with full gear in a need without having to unload the entire pack .....

Yes! They had a couple packs with a vertical zipper. It lacked Dana's "Y" design, but was handy. I owned the Bugaboo and it took quite a beating before finally wearing out.

Four Spartan Old Versions of Mystery Ranch
I have a cariology xdt and a bunch of small backpacks. The Mysterious Ranch's backpack is comfortable to wear and walk all day. I even forget to put my backpack down.

My Bridger is the most comfortable, functional pack I've ever worn. No, not my first pack. I own 6 day packs, and 3 backpacks. I have been into the great outdoors for about 40 years and hiked, backpacked, climbed, skied, cycled tens of thousands of miles. I work in the industry (not at MR), and likely have owned another 15 packs before my current lot.

Loved my Selway… I would have kept it if it had Pintler organization!! Currently my son has a Pintler and I’m trying a sawtooth with a lid as well as popup 18 and 28’s

Love this. I admit that I'm currently very enamored with the Blitz 30! If I could make some improvements, it would be somehow made the zips a little easier. Whether that means uncoated or something else. Something easy to manipulate with one hand. And maybe add a veritcal pocket on the back side of the lid behind the ABC pockets.

Can we talk about that Multicam Black 3 DAP you guys need to make so MY life will be better? Made in Bozeman and Signed by the Big Cheese himself. Because it F%^king Matters........
Don't wimp out and make it a 2 DAP or an ASAP. I'm a big dude and I got stuff to carry...know what I mean?

    • @skippy421
      @skippy421 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yup. But let’s not wimpify the 2 DAP. That sucker gets me three solid days as a suitcase, converted to ruck, to briefcase and laptop sherpa, with toiletries, supplies an such, all while fitting under the friggin airplane seat. In edc mode it goes from gym bag to office donkey with ccw in the rear zippered laptop sleeve. It’s a dynamo.

id be happy with a multicam black 2 day or 3 day. The 2 day is great too and perfect for my civilian needs since its a lot lighter than the 3day. But man is the 3 day awesome. Id do anything to get it in MCB or m81 woodland@@skippy421
Also Dana Gleason make an MR pack in Tiger Stripe! Ive yet to see an MR pack in Tiger stripe camo

@@skippy421 All respect to the 2DAP, I didn't mean that those bags were wimpy. Most of their limited run stuff as of late has been smaller bags and it would be nice if they made a larger one, especially since the 3 DAP is the original. For EDC or personal carry-on, 2 DAP is about as perfect as perfect gets. Problem is, I'm a big dude (6'1" 250 lbs), 13 shoe, XXL size. So if I need to start packing clothes, I run out of room pretty quick, especially in the winter if I need to carry an extra layer.. I can always carry less stuff in a bigger bag, but once the smaller bag is full, it's done. If I'm wishing on a star, my pick is the 3 DAP.

@@vettepilot427 Agreed. Being 5'9 and 165 myself, I still must use a compression cube to get my clothing situated into the 2DAP, with a compliment of Med zoid bags for org (Zoids are key). Being somewhat a minimalist makes the task a bit easier. I see the 3DAP as spanning my range bag to bugout bag with few other conversions needed. A grab n go, so to speak, knowing everything is in there. 2DAP won't do that for me, either. So, yes, I'd love a 3DAP in MC black.

@@skippy421 Did you see that special Arctic pack they built in MC Alpine? I might be tempted on that colorway also (and play hell trying to keep it clean). My go-to has been a special Bozeman-built black 3 DAP they did a few years ago. It removed a lot of the daisy-chain and extra buckles (similar to the current design) and replaced the molle radio sleeve in the back with a padded laptop sleeve. It’s done planes, trains, and autos and everywhere else for the past few years. I purchased a gunfighter 24 when they did the Bozeman Special Blend last year and have been using it for personal carry-on. Only problem is I miss that big lid pouch from the 3 DAP to throw everything in when I go through security. Fits better under the seat through.
