We visited Red Kite in 2021, absolutely loved it, we agree it is the best kept site ever. We loved the view down the valley and seeing the kites wheeling above. The walk down into town fairly easy, the journey back up quite challenging. The metered electric is new since then, but would be totally happy with their system. It’s only people who abuse unmetered power that are unhappy with meters.
Aww, what a cracking end to a cracking video🤣 I’ve waited for this video to see what you both think of this fantastic site, you’ve put my mind at rest as the electric bollard was putting hubby off ever going again, I shall now be onto him to book it up😉😊 so glad you both enjoyed it there, safe travels to you both 😊
Thank you!!! Yes, on the bollard and elastic trickery thing, we were well impressed, and not a little delighted, truthfully. I’d been a tad worried - need not have been, as you saw.
We stayed here in March and it was a really nice site, the staff could not have been more helpful and the surroundings are great. It was our first time on metred electric and being a chilly March weekend I expected to use a lot with the heating on all the time. But we used about £15 over the three nights. About a week after I got home they emailed me and offered me a partial refund (in vouchers) because they realised their electric rates had gone down before we stayed there which I thought was a nice gesture.
Not stayed at that one , but a couple of others in the area , will now shortlist it , electric use works out well , as for the local roads , they are cause for a bit of squeaky bum time , thanks for the vlog

It is an enchanting place, true to say.

Have to say that doesn't surprise us too much - they do seem to have customers' best interests at heart. Which is very nice.

Squeaky bum time is putting it mildly!! However, next visit will see the upgrade scoot in tow, as will become evident soon!
@@VandromedasTravels nice one , be good for getting around 👍
Just arrived this morning - fabulously capable scoot….
All looked nice an thanks for the electric break down in cost. How much was the site a night ?
It was £52.50 per night we paid... Not the cheapest on the tour, but their top end pitch.
I’m totally for metered power you then pay for what you use , fed up with seeing heaters glowing red in an awning 👍
We'd rather not be paying commercial rates, though. There has to be some way that sites can negotiate domestic rates for users...
Please don’t use the phrase “it’s warm enough to walk around the van naked” again 😂
We’re still watching but I felt that needed saying immediately 😂
Anyway, that’s a very fair site with the metered leccy unlike one I could mention in Melton Mowbray…
I’ve been to that site but around 12 years ago…
Wouldn’t necessarily have to be me, y’know… but it could be…
@@VandromedasTravelsthat was the worry
Wouldn’t worry me… Gill, on the other hand…
I was very pleased with it… expected sparking a lot more dosh out…
