I am an RN, at an acute care hospital within the VA. It’s all about the location..some have great staffing others have none. The patient population is very unique and can seem entitled if you’re not used to dealing with veterans (I’m a veteran) so you will see things done there that will never happen in the private sector. You will be well compensated as a staff RN as far as pay, benefits, PTO (5w) and sick time (2w). Weekend shift diff is 25% and nights is 10% weekend nights is 35%. Retirement pension available after 5 years and you can keep your insurance plan into retirement.

Hi! Im currently working in Micronesia as a public health nurse and I wonder how many percentage do I get a chance to be hired if I apply online? Or do I even have a chance get hirev 😢

@@kateprem I'd say tailor your resume to fit the qualifications and apply! Of course be truthful but stand out with keywords used in the job posting you want and use those in your resume!

My husband has had his care through the VA for almost 30 years and has never had a single complaint. He recently had heart surgery and was treated fantastically and they did a spectacular job with the procedure and after care.

There is only a clinic about 20 minutes away. It’s in a poverty filled ghetto city but it’s a brand new building and I’m considering applying. The hours, pay, benefits might be worth it. Plus I think I’d be able to transfer to a remote job event which is my goal!

I’m a 100% disabled veteran and I wanted to see if I could help my wife get a job at a VA clinic. She’s been an RN in labor delivery for 5yrs. Any tips? We are in CA. She currently works for Kaiser

@ in high school (90s) I volunteered there often. Imagine the worst managed nursing home on earth. That would be an improvement compared to how things were there. I have military service in my family dating back every generation since the Revolution. It was very hard to see

@@roselinededua I had a bit of difficulty transferring my nursing license, but I was coming from another state. I'm not sure what all it would entail coming from a different country for Georgia specifically. Here's a video I did on my own experience. th-cam.com/video/VN-H2EchC-Y/w-d-xo.html
