- In October, I went on a 6-day cruise aboard Carnival Horizon to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Mexico! This is my second cruise on Carnival and of course, Cruise Director Cookie did not disappoint. 🤎

I’ve cruised Horizon 3 times, including this itinerary in May 2019 and we did the same excursion in Jamaica.
I’m watching vlogs to pass the time until we go again in November 2024. Horizon is one of our favorite ships and also Celebration.

Going on this cruise in May! Watching your Vlog made me even more excited! Did you get the CHEERS package? We're still trying to debate if we're going to purchase it or just pay for our drinks while there.
We did get the cheers package! If you buy it before embarkation day, it’s $60/day and each drink averages about $10.50. So if you think you’ll each drink about 5-6 drinks a day, plus soda and specialty coffee at the cafe, then yes, it’s worth it.

Any tips on spending money? Me and hubby going on our first cruise. We're most of the places you guys ate at on the cruise all inclusive?
Yes! We only paid for steakhouse which I believe is around $40-50 now, and this was only to take advantage of the complimentary bottle of wine they give (but you have to ask for it!). We really focus on bringing cash for tipping bartenders, etc. While in port, we may pay around $25-30 for any island tour or for a cab to the beach and maybe another $30 for a few souvenirs. I budget maybe $500 for a week long cruise, but I never spend all of it.

Thank you so much for watching!! 🥰 We booked the Ocho Ríos and Cozumel excursions through Carnival. The island tour in Grand Cayman was just something we did last minute when we got to the port. Yes, the food and drinks were included with the Dolphin excursion! Keven enjoyed the fajitas and nachos, i didn’t like the burger very much 😂

Thank you for watching 🤗 Drinks are not included but you can purchase the Cheers Package, this allows you a max of 15 alcoholic drinks per day, as well as unlimited soda, juices, and specialty drinks at the cafe like lattes, milkshakes, etc. The package costs around $60 per day, and each drink averages around $10.50. It’s worth it if you know you’ll be drinking that or more! Can’t wait for you to go 🥳

Thanks for watching! ☺️ We did get the cheers package and it’s worth it for us as we definitely drink more than 4 drinks a day. Each drink averages about $10.50 but with the service charge and gratuity, it’s about $15! So if you’re having about 5 drinks a day, the package is worth it. Plus, special coffee, sodas, and 16oz water bottles are included! Hope this helps, enjoy your trip 🥳

I’m taking the same one in December. I plan to stay in Miami the night before. Was getting to the hotel from the airport and to the port easy?
We stayed at the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel which is extremely close to the airport…but we still had to take an uber! I don’t think you can walk to the hotel but it was just a 5min ride.
Ima have to disagree with you on that one bc the pizza at the very back of the ship by the pool be hitting especially late at night 😂😂
Listen, ima eat the pizza regardless, especially after we had too many drinks in Jamaica and missed dinner 🤣 but it was not that good for the line to be an hour wait 😐

We booked our excursions through Carnival! The tour in grand cayman was bought in the spur of the moment. The ports we visited have a time difference and we didn’t want to risk being left at port for any confusion 😂

We went at the end of October! It’s a hit or miss as it’s hurricane season but obviously we got lucky 😎 It was also very hot.
did you get the drink package ?
Yes! On Carnival, it’s $60 per day per person. Plus an 18% gratuity charge.
Hi!!! I’m taking this same cruise/ship in August. Do you remember which two nights were the formal nights? We’re thinking about specialty dining and wanted to avoid reservations on those two evenings. Thanks!
It’s typically the second night and second to last night of the trip. I definitely recommend booking the steakhouse on the first night and asking for the complimentary wine!

Heyyyy going on this same cruise do you know if I can book the excursions when I get to the islands ?
We booked our excursions for Jamaica and Cozumel in advance through the Carnival website. For Grand Cayman, we just booked something we found when we got to the port. Those are usually cheaper but if they run late, the ship won’t wait for you! Also, the fun excursions may sell out so I recommend booking in advance ☺️

thank you!! i actually don’t even know 😭 i went to a salon in Harlem, NY and they just had all the hair out. But i asked for human curls and it looked like they used Xpression braiding hair. The curls do get tangled though, it’s really annoying so i ended up pulling it all out after the trip 💀

Thanks for watching! We stayed at the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel. We originally booked the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Miami Doral but they canceled our reservation 2 days before our flight. I think enjoyed the Sheraton better though. 🙂

What is ship time nd regular time ?
The ship left from Miami, FL so we were on EST time zone but the ports we went to were all an hour behind. So they emphasize ship time versus local time to make sure you’re back on the ship on time. For example, in Grand Cayman, we were to be back on board at 3:15pm ship time which is 2:15pm local time. A lot of people get left behind for not paying attention 😬

@Katt Elise once you try to monetize, they are going to hit you for all music 🎶 in the background on the ship .the only music you can use is the music on the TH-cam channel page TH-cam studio. All my cruise ship videos I had to mute out and redub with TH-cam music. Good 👍 luck
