Good grief ! Nick , you've done it again . I felt I was right there with you . Slowly 'pouring' over those incredible creations . My 1st drag meeting was in '64 , and my last was at Santa Pod '78-'79 . Now virtually housebound , so I'm very grateful to you for making these videos available . Beautifully filmed . I'm indebted . Thank you . Pete 8-)
@@gavinallard9752 Hello Gavin . Wow ! First of all , may I apologise for not answering sooner ? I've been having problems with my laptop . Anyway , yes , I most certainly was , and the 2nd International Drag Festival in '65 , too . I met them all , and with Tony Nancy , twice ! Unfortunately I missed seeing your grandfather . I'm sure I saw your father , though . Running a Shorrock's-blown 105E Anglia , and a cool little 'digger' , if I remember correctly . So . How are you and your extraordinary family ? Ironically , and indeed sadly , I only learnt recently , that your grandfather died in 1966 . He must have been quite satisfied , and proud to witness drag racing getting established . His involvement in so many forms of motor-sport is well-documented . However , with drag-racing , he was a true pioneer . His Chrysler-powered dragster was absolutely beautifully constructed and finished . He really was Britain's Wally Parks , but you know that . Gavin , I'm sitting here ill and in a lot of discomfort , but giggling like a schoolgirl ! I'd love to have a 'proper' chat with you sometime . I could chat about those extraordinary experiences until I'm told to stop ! What a privilege ! Thank you so much for your message . I'm more than happy to share my email address with you if you'd like . Kind and grateful regards . Pete 8-)
Thanks for filming this, really great, not too much wind noise either. It's been years since I was able to go to Santa pod, I didn't realise how many great cars there are in Europe now. Thanks again love your films.
Thanks for professional quality filming, and to the compettitors for keeping the scene alive.......
