With Dream Lab touted as the biggest business simulation playground in the world, will this be the end of days for DreamPlay as the best indoor children’s playground in our list? With emphasis on entrepreneurship - teaching young children to be business minded through interactive experiential simulations, Dream Lab might be in a league of its own. It’s a 3-in-1 fun destination - a comprehensive entrepreneurship museum, kids’ playground & events place rolled into one over 4,000 square meters of space in the Circuit Makati.
Dream Lab is the 1st of its kind in the country launched in October 2022. It’s a unique concept that envisions the future Filipino generation of entrepreneurs. Thus, it’s a sort of future-forward thinking venue (there’s even a Board Room where you can preside in a meeting) through the introduction of business ownership at a very young age. Toddlers like Bianca might be too young to know & engage with these business start-up experimental activities showcasing step-by-step procedures in building your business empire. But it’s a start!
Let’s see what’s inside of this new edutainment center. Upon entrance, you will be welcomed by the Lab Ninjas. Dream Lab is composed of 2 cities: Dreamville & Wunderville. From your day passes (either engage, experience or escapade with varying ticket prices), you can explore different rooms or business establishments, namely Dream Farm, Color Lab, Sandy Lane, Dream Dough, Mixing Lab, Color Lab, Creative Lab, Craft Lab, Tiny Buds, Candy Republic, Cerealsly, Ads Venture & Photo Studios.
These chilren’s playgrounds in the safe confines of shopping malls are getting bigger & more creative with lots of activities in store even with adults participating. For instance, the Mixing Lab, one of the 14 business establishments here, has 27 kinds of products that visitors can make ranging from colognes, fabric conditioners, candles & massage oil while the Dream Dough has 19 kinds of pastries to bake, the Creative Lab has mug & shirt printing to produce & the Ads Venture the logos & labels to print.
Guests will understand, too the importance of the 6 government agencies namely, Barangay, City Hall, Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Labor & Employemnt (DOLE) & the Police Station when opening a business from conceptualization to securing necessary permits to production & marketing your brand & products. There’s also a Hotel, Hospital, Market, Bank, Pharmacy, Hardware & Gas Station to create a thriving local community.
Dream Lab also has 5 functions rooms exclusively for events such as birthdays, anniversaries, photo shoots, school trips or excursions, corporate events, seminars & the like. There are also snacks & merch stores at the end of your tiring journey so you might further spoil yourself before you head to the exit. Interestingly, there’s an actual model house unit inside Dream Lab that you could inspect. It appears they’re also engaged in real estate development - now that’s really serious business!
Dream Lab was created & managed by the Philippine Amusement & Entertainment Corporation (PAEC) along with the Tales of Illumina that we visited in May this year. PAEC is considered as the biggest operator of educational & interactive attractions in the country. So far, Bianca has visited 19 indoor children’s playgrounds & though the kid enjoyed every one of them, the kids at heart shall have one last say.
