It’s important to note, my wife and I checked in Saturday night (literally 30 minutes before the state of emergency was issued) with our first park day being on Sunday. We immediately checked out Sunday morning, opting to reschedule our entire trip rather than risk closures affecting our plans. We were given full refunds for EVERYTHING. We had a resort & park ticket bundled package as well as park hopper, LL multi-pass and single passes, and Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets for Friday the 11th. Again, EVERYTHING was happily refunded to us and we were assured prior to checking out that it would be due to the developing storm situation.
Looked at those bake shop menus and was appalled. $9 regular iced teas? $8 soft drinks? $20+ dollars for basic sandwiches that you’d see elsewhere for $10-14 in the theme parks? It’s just crazy. Shame on them!
Especially with a gallon of milk in the grocery store is about 7 bucks a gallon? And you're not even getting a gallon is worth of milk for the price..... Eeeeek!
Meanwhile, a bottle coke out of a Tokyo Disney vending machine is ¥200, the equivalent of $1.35. Oh, and the machine is heavily themed around whatever land it’s in.
@@UmmYeahOk I feel like Tokyo Disney is too cheap and not sure how they even make money. The average pay for the Japanese is 37,292 which is 22k lower than someone who lives in the US. Sad part about Disney is a lot of kids that would love to go can't because of the high cost for a family to even walk through the gates. Praying for Florida though not so much for disney, it would and will recover and just go up higher on prices. Went 1 time last year and dont care to ever go back. It cost 2 of us a fortune to go with some other family members.
Hi! I’m from Indy and have been to cake bake here, the prices here are higher than average here so I’d expect them to be high for WDW but not that high 😳 I will say most people go to this place for the ✨ambiance✨. It’s head to toe over the top floral and girly decor that people love to post photos of online. In my opinion, the cakes were literally okay. Like I said most people here go there for the photos of the place 😂
That’s what I was thinking. The only reason I can think of anyone going there would be the instagramability. I swear social media has ruined so much of our world and culture. The reason prices are so high, and parks so crowded is so people can take photos of all the crap they bought and show off to people. I remember seeing a park walkthrough during flower and garden, and there being a huge line to take a picture WITH a topiary. In years past, there would be no line. You’d take a pic and go. You certainly wouldn’t pose in front of it for the perfect selfie. I mean, if it looks that good, why not just have that in the picture, rather than you as well? I would even see people have professional photo shoots at the park. And no, not Disney company purchased, but actual independent people, maybe a friend, set up angles and such, a crowd would form around them because no one wants to photo bomb them, but if I have to stand for more than 20 seconds, I’m walking right inbetween you and the camera because my time, and the 50 other people stopped and waiting, is more important than your photo shoot. (And no, for some special event, like engagement. It’s just one person “modeling.”)
Same. I live in Indiana and have been to the Cake Bake Shop in Carmel. When I heard they were opening a location at WDW I knew the prices would be high, but not that outrageous. The shop is absolutely beautiful, no doubt. But once was enough for us. The cake really was just ok, but the slices are quite large. The truffle fries are very good. But nothing they have is worth those prices, in my opinion.
I don’t understand Disney world should be shutting down now they should be allowing staff to go home to prepare not have to be stressing about evacuating or losing their job that it’s just the right and moral thing to do
Yep. I had tent camping booked 9-11. Got my call today moved to port Orleans riverside. I’m delighted with my new plan to evacuate Tampa to Disney and have walls and roof lol
Cake Bake Shop will be closed down within six months to a year if they keep those prices the way they are right now. Some people will pay those prices but most people wont. You can go to EPCOT, Swan and Dolphin, Disney Springs and get similar snacks for practically half of what Cake Bake Shop is charging.
I don't typically bat an eye when splurging on food, but this is where I draw the line. Cake Bake Shop is charging higher prices than top-rated dining in major cities. You can't convince me CBS is at that level. The vloggers and anyone who reports on WDW will have to review it, but I can't imagine this being more than a one time experience for anyone. Anyway, everyone stay safe this week!
No one seems to be concerned about what this hurricane will do to Epic Universe construction site and how it will effect the pace of construction or delay opening to later in 2025 or even further.
If I am going to spend that much on a meal going to Disney them I’m going to spend it on a character breakfast rather than cake and a pricey egg salad sandwich.
Very hard pass on cake bake shop. I mean flying fish is right there. Go there for less money. Yogurt for $26? Nope. $8 coke 😂 Disney better start looking for a new tenant for that space now. It's unfortunate for boardwalk guests to get this instead of a better option.

Not too far off of the food fair prices in the shopping mall here in Canada. Plus, you don’t need to carry the food around with you like you do if you pack your own small lunch from home.
Cake Bake is a fail at those prices. Hate to see something new fall flat on its face, but Disney didn't give this a snowballs chance in Florida at these prices.

So he’s saying that Walt Disney would’ve wanted them to be off in a sanctuary. But Walt wanted live animals in the jungle cruise? This guy barely knows anything about animals and how people care for them. He literally has electrocuted dolphins and released them when it was not clearly suitable for them. Sure their could probably be a better place that’s just down the road but a sanctuary is not the answer.
Exorbitant and absurd come to mind w re to the pricing at the Cake place. There is nothing they could possibly do to a breakfast egg sandwich to justify $23.

Hey Tom. I sent you an email today with the same profile picture. I know you may be busy but I just wanted to check. Thank you!
Tom can I send a superchat just to make you say everything will be OK
I am willing to pay for signature restaurants and character meals, but not the Cake Bake Shop! I also will not pay (as a solo senior woman) for anniversary-special dinners at the likes of Takumi-Tei and Victoria and Albert’s.
Do you think the membrane covering the Tron will survive?
$23 for an egg sandwich?!? 😮 $26 for cake?! nope. I’d rather by souvenirs with that money.
14:39- it really is Disney World prices. What do you expect?
any news on Disney Fantasy's itinerary
Update; it's a CAT 5, with some of the highest pressures ever recorded
Or lowest?
@@roxiesdad9804 hmm I think the newscaster said highest, but yeah, could be lowest. I'm not sure what that pressure rating is in relation to.. the eye-wall? The wind pressure? The vacuum?
Can't wait for Tom's Tour of "Sad Beige Mom's of TikTok Resort".
I hope Marley comes back or finds a new home at one of the zoos around here.
Glad you're keeping on the critique of the Poly tower. Just grossly over-scaled and lacking any inherent theme concept, except for "this spreadsheet better look good"
What about Disney island there’s dolphins there that you swim with in the open water put them there at least they’re with other dolphins and still have human contact
Highly priced so none of the great masses of unwashed are present. A carefully Crafted Business model to exclude all but the chosen few.
I was looking forward to going to The Cake Bake Shop until I saw the menu prices. As much as I love brunch I will not pay these prices for brunch. Save your $$$$ and go to Homecomin’ or The Grand Floridian Cafe
I live near Gulfarium! You do not want those dolphins going there. It’s very sad.
@@spoonlessvalkyrie7514 “a better place that’s just down the road”
9:18 wait didn’t the Disney company push lemmings off a cliff in the 60s?
Walt Disney was still alive when that movie was made, so he must have approved it
😭😭Is Walt Disney World… Closing permanently?😭😭
I don't think so. They'll reopen as soon as it's safe.
I won't eat at Cake Bake. I'll head to Citricos or another signature restaurant. Too much for what it is
Marley needs a friend
Oh my, that Bake Cake Shop pricing does not make sense.
Exorbitant and absurd come to mind w re to the pricing at the Cake place. There is nothing they could possibly do to a breakfast egg sandwich to justify $23.
I’m from Indy where Cake Bake started… it’s not that good. Trust
